World-renowned boxer Manny Pacquiao is running once again after being defeated in South Cotabato's congressional race to incumbent Rep. Darlene Antonino-Custodio in 2007. As such, he moved to Sarangani and is vying for its open congressional seat left by out going Rep. Erwin Chiongbian. Pacquiao is running his own People's Champ Movement which is co-endorsed by the Nacionalista Party. He will face Rep. Chiongbian's third brother, Roy Chiongbian, a local businessman. Chiongbian is co-endorsed by the local Sarangani Reconciliation and Reformation Organization and Lakas Kampi CMD. [2]

Sarangani, officially the Province of Sarangani, is a province in the Philippines located in the Soccsksargen region. Its capital is Alabel. With a 230-kilometre (140 mi) coastline along the Sarangani Bay and Celebes Sea, the province is at the southernmost tip of Mindanao island, and borders South Cotabato and Davao del Sur to the north, Davao Occidental to the east, and the Celebes Sea to the south.
Darlene Magnolia Ricasa Antonino-Custodio is a politician from the province of South Cotabato, Philippines. She previously served as the representative of the first district of South Cotabato and mayor of General Santos. She gained national fame for defeating her challenger, professional boxer seven-division world champion Manny Pacquiao in the 2007 elections.
The 2010 Philippine House of Representatives elections were held on May 10, 2010, to elect members to the House of Representatives of the Philippines to serve in the 15th Congress of the Philippines from June 30, 2010, to June 30, 2013.
