The 2011-12 Qatari League , also known as Qatari Stars League was the 39th edition of top-level football championship in Qatar. The season started on 1 September 2011 and finished on 13 April 2012. Lekhwiya won the league title.

Al-Sailiya were relegated to the second-level league after finishing bottom in the 2010–11 Qatar Stars League campaign.

El Jaish were promoted as the 2nd level champions.

Al-Gharafa Sports Club is a Qatari multi-sports club based in the Al Gharrafa district of Al Rayyan. The club is best known for its football team, although it also has teams for other sports. The club was established on 6 June 1979 as Al-Ittihad and later officially incorporated into the Qatar Football Association on 23 September of that same year. The club was officially renamed to its current form in 2004 to better represent the district of Al-Gharafa, where the club is located. The club was most notably founded by Sheikh Mohammed bin Jassim Al-Thani, Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim Al-Thani, Sheikh Hamad bin Faisal Al-Thani, Sheikh Ali bin Abdullah Al-Thani and Saad Mohammed Al-Rumaihi. In a documentary produced by Al Kass sports channel about the history of the club, Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim mentioned that the idea was initially suggested by Saad Al-Rumaihi who was working as a sports journalist at the Al Raya newspaper.

Younis Mahmoud Khalaf is an Iraqi former professional footballer who played as a forward for the Iraq national football team and is currently the second vice-president of the Iraq Football Association. One of the country's greatest ever players, Mahmoud captained the team for ten straight years and became an icon of Asian football. He also played for a number of clubs including teams in Iraq, UAE, Qatar and Saudi Arabia, winning three Golden Boots in Qatar and breaking numerous records.

He was shortlisted for the Asian Footballer of the Year award in 2008. He currently holds the record for the fastest goal scored in AFC Champions League history at 9 seconds – a record which was set in 2013 when he was playing for Lekhwiya.

The season started on 15 September 2012 and took a monthlong break from 21 December to 21 January 2013 due to the 21st Arabian Gulf Cup. Lekhwiya were the defending champions. Al-Sadd won the league for the 13th time in their history, making them the most successful team in the Qatar Stars League.

The 2018–19 Qatari League, also known as Qatar Stars League, is the 46th edition of top-level football championship in Qatar.

The 2019 Emir of Qatar Cup is the 47th edition of the Qatari cup tournament in men's football. It will be played by the first and second level divisions of the Qatari football league structure. The cup winner is guaranteed a place in the 2020 AFC Champions League.

In the 2019–20 season, Al Sadd SC is competing in the Qatar Stars League for the 47th season, as well as the Emir of Qatar Cup and the Champions League.

The 2021–22 Qatari League, also known as Qatar Stars League or QNB Stars League, was the 48th edition of top-level football championship in Qatar. The league kicked off on 11 September 2021 and ended on 11 March 2022. Al-Sadd were defending champions and won the league for a second straight undefeated season.
