The 2012 New Zealand primetime television schedule for the five major free-to-air New Zealand television networks (One, 2, 3, Four and Prime) covers primetime hours throughout 2012.
Television in New Zealand was introduced in 1960 as a state-run service. The broadcasting sector was deregulated in 1989, when the Government allowed competition to the state-owned Television New Zealand (TVNZ). There are currently three forms of broadcast television: a terrestrial (DVB-T) service provided by Freeview; satellite services provided nationwide by both Freeview and Sky; and an internet television service delivered over cable and fibre broadband.
Light green indicates original airing of New Zealand produced programming.
Light blue indicates programming scheduled before or within one week of original overseas airing.
Light grey indicates Repeat Programming.
Orange indicates movies.
Note that programme times in the below schedule may differ by up to 10 minutes.
