The 2014 Manly Warringah Sea Eagles season was the 65th in the club's history. Coached by Geoff Toovey and co-captained by Jamie Lyon and Jason King, the Sea Eagles competed in the 2014 NRL season, finishing the regular season 2nd out of 16 teams. [1]

Contents

The Sea Eagles made their 10th consecutive finals series but were eliminated in Week 2 by eventual grand finalists, the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs. Manly led the NRL table for much of the season but slipped to 2nd after a late loss to the North Queensland Cowboys. [2]

Pre-season

The Sea Eagles competed in the inaugural 2014 NRL Auckland Nines tournament, a 9-a-side knockout competition. Manly won one of their three pool matches. [3]

Player departures

The club lost Glenn Stewart due to salary cap restrictions; he signed a two-year contract with the South Sydney Rabbitohs. [4]

Season summary

Manly had a strong attacking season, scoring 502 points (96 tries, 65 goals) and conceding 399 points. Top try-scorer was Brett Stewart with 17 tries, while captain Jamie Lyon led the club in goals (65) and points (158).
