The Mazda RX-7 is a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive, rotary engine-powered sports car that was manufactured and marketed by Mazda from 1978 until 2002 across three generations, all of which made use of a compact, lightweight Wankel rotary engine.
The Mazda RX-8 is a sports car manufactured by Japanese automobile manufacturer Mazda between 2003 and 2012. It was first shown in 2001 at the North American International Auto Show. It is the direct successor to the RX-7. Like its predecessors in the RX range, it is powered by a rotary Wankel engine. The RX-8 was available for the 2003 model year in most parts of the world.
Rallycross is a form of sprint style motorsport, held on a closed mixed-surface racing circuit, with modified production or specially built touring cars. The seventh season of the Australian version of the original NBC reality television series The Biggest Loser, known as The Biggest Loser Australia: Singles, premiered on 23 January 2012 on Network Ten. The contestants competed to win the $250,000 prize, which was awarded to Rachel Frederickson. It premiered on October 15, 2013. The World RX of Great Britain is a Rallycross event held in the United Kingdom for the FIA World Rallycross Championship. The event made its debut in the 2014 season, at the Lydden Hill Race Circuit in the village of Wootton, Kent near Dover. From 2018, the event moved and is now hosted at Silverstone Circuit.
Lånkebanen is a road racing circuit situated near Hell in Lånke, Stjørdal, Norway. The venue opened in 1987 as the first asphalt track in the country. It is used for a variety of motorsports, including rallycross, go-kart and motorcycle racing. The venue also features a designated hillclimbing and a motocross track on the slopes below, and a harness racing oval. Lånkebanen is owned by the Norwegian Automobile Federation (NAF).
The 2014 World RX of Portugal was the opening round of the 2014 FIA World Rallycross Championship and the first ever round of the FIA World Rallycross Championship. The event was held at the Pista Automóvel de Montalegre in the Portuguese border town of Montalegre. Four of the seven stages of the round, including the final, were won by 2003 WRC champion Petter Solberg, with the young guns Bakkerud and Nitišs rounding out the podium for Olsbergs MSE.

Olsbergs MSE, which also competes under the title OMSE, is an auto racing team founded by Swedish former rally champion Andréas Eriksson as Motorsport Evolution (MSE) in 2005. In 2008 it ran under the name Ford Team RS Europe, while in 2009 Swedish electro-hydraulic control systems manufacturer Olsbergs bought 50% of the team and it was renamed Olsbergs MSE.
