The 2014–15 Utah Valley Wolverines men's basketball team represented Utah Valley University in the 2014–15 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. Dick Hunsaker was in his thirteenth season as the UVU head coach. The Wolverines played their home games at the UCCU Center as members of the Western Athletic Conference. They finished the season 11–19, 5–9 in WAC play to finish in sixth place. They lost in the quarterfinals of the WAC Tournament to Cal State Bakersfield.
On March 8, head coach Dick Hunsaker announced he would be stepping down at the end of the season. [1]
The Wolverines finished the season 20–12, 13–3 in WAC play to win the WAC regular season championship. They advanced to the semifinals of the WAC Tournament where they lost to Idaho. As a regular season conference champion who failed to win their conference tournament, they received an automatic bid to the National Invitation Tournament where they lost in the first round to California.

Mark Edward Pope is an American basketball coach and former player who is the nineteenth and current head coach of Brigham Young University's (BYU) men's basketball team. He played college basketball for the Kentucky Wildcats, where he was part of a national championship team, and the Washington Huskies, where he was the Pac-10 Freshman of the Year. He later played professionally in the National Basketball Association for the Indiana Pacers, Milwaukee Bucks and Denver Nuggets.
The Utah Valley Wolverines represent Utah Valley University in NCAA DI collegiate athletics and sponsor 16 sporting programs. The Wolverines participate in the Western Athletic Conference. The school mascot is the Wolverine, and the colors are green and white. The UVU student section is called The Den. A name change from The Mawl, the student section's previous name, was enacted summer 2017. All UVU students can get their free Den Pass, which includes free admission to all athletic events.

They lost in the semifinals of the Great West Basketball Tournament in overtime to NJIT. They were invited to the 2012 CollegeInsider.com Tournament where they lost in the first round to Weber State.

They finished the season 14–18, 3–5 in Great West play to finish in a three way tie for third place. They lost in the first round of the Great West Tournament to Houston Baptist.

The 2013–14 Western Athletic Conference men's basketball season began with practices in October 2013, which was followed by the beginning of the 2013–14 NCAA Division I men's basketball season in November. The regular season title was won by the Utah Valley Wolverines, who fell to Idaho in the first round of the conference tournament. New Mexico State was crowned the conference champions for their third straight season after a 77-55 win over the Vandals.

The Aggies, led by ninth year head coach Marvin Menzies, played their home games at the Pan American Center in Las Cruces, New Mexico and were members of the Western Athletic Conference. They finished the season 23–11, 13–1 in WAC play to win the WAC regular season championship. They defeated UMKC to advance to the championship game of the WAC Tournament where they lost to Cal State Bakersfield. As a regular season conference champion who failed to win their conference tournament, they received an automatic bid to the National Invitation Tournament where they lost in the first round to Saint Mary's.

Cathy Nixon enters the season as head coach for the 20th consecutive season. The Wolverines play their home games at the UCCU Center and the PE Building as members of the WAC. They finished the season 16–15, 8–6 in WAC play to finish in a 3 tie for third place. They advanced to the semifinals of the WAC Women's Tournament where they lost to New Mexico State.

They finished the season 26–5, 13–1 in WAC play to win the regular season WAC championship. They defeated Utah Valley and Texas–Rio Grande Valley to be champions of the WAC Women's Tournament. They received an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament where they lost in the first round to Arizona State.
The 2016–17 Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunners men's basketball team represented California State University, Bakersfield during the 2016–17 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Roadrunners, led by sixth-year head coach Rod Barnes, played their home games at the Icardo Center as members of the Western Athletic Conference. They finished the season 25–10, 12–2 in WAC play to win the regular season WAC championship. They defeated Utah Valley to advance to the championship game of the WAC Tournament where they lost to New Mexico State. As a regular season conference champion who failed to win their conference tournament, they received an automatic bid to the National Invitation Tournament. As a No. 8 seed, they defeated California, Colorado State, and Texas–Arlington to become the first No. 8 seed to advance to the semifinals since the NIT introduced seeding in 2006. In the semifinals at Madison Square Garden they lost to Georgia Tech.

The Redhawks, led by first-year head coach Jim Hayford, played their home games at KeyArena and the Connolly Center as members of the Western Athletic Conference. They finished the season 20–14, 8–6 in WAC play to finish in fourth place. It was the Redhawks' first 20-win season since 2008 and first 20-win season in Division I play since the 1960s.

The Aggies, led by second-year head coach Chris Jans, play their home games at the Pan American Center in Las Cruces, New Mexico as members of the Western Athletic Conference. They finished the regular season 27–4 and 15–1 in WAC play to win the WAC regular season championship. In the WAC Tournament, they defeated Chicago State, Texas–Rio Grande Valley, and Grand Canyon to become WAC Tournament champions. They received the WAC's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, where they lost in the first round to Auburn. They also set a school record for wins in a season and won 30 games for the first time in team history.

They were invited to the College Basketball Invitational where they defeated Cal State Northridge in the first round before losing in the quarterfinals to South Florida.

The Wolverines, led by first-year head coach Mark Madsen, played their home games at the UCCU Center in Orem, Utah as members of the Western Athletic Conference. They finished the season 11–19, 5–10 in WAC play to finish in finish in eighth place. Due to irregularities in the WAC standings due to cancelled games, they were set to be the No. 6 seed in the WAC Tournament, however, the tournament was cancelled amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
