The 2016 Rogers Cup presented by National Bank was a tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. It was the 127th edition (for the men) and the 114th (for the women) of the Canadian Open. The tournament was part of the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 of the 2016 ATP World Tour, and of the WTA Premier 5 tournaments of the 2016 WTA Tour, and was also a 2016 US Open Series event. The men's event was held at the Aviva Centre in Toronto, from 25 to July 31 and the women's event was held at the Uniprix Stadium in Montreal, from July 25 to July 31. The event was scheduled two weeks earlier than the usual early-August date to avoid conflicting with the 2016 Summer Olympics.

The 2018 Rogers Cup presented by National Bank was a tennis tournament to be played on outdoor hard courts. It was the 129th edition and the 117th of the Canadian Open. The tournament was part of the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 of the 2018 ATP World Tour, and of the WTA Premier 5 tournaments of the 2018 WTA Tour, and was also a 2018 US Open Series event. The men's event was held at the Aviva Centre in Toronto and the women's event was held at the IGA Stadium in Montréal, both from August 6 to August 12.

The 2021 Gippsland Trophy was a tournament on the 2021 WTA Tour. It was played on outdoor hard courts in Melbourne, Australia. It was organised as a lead-up tournament to the 2021 Australian Open, and was held at the same venue, due to other tournaments in Australia being cancelled as a result from the COVID-19 pandemic. This tournament took place simultaneously with the 2021 Yarra Valley Classic and the 2021 Grampians Trophy. Players who had originally intended to participate in this tournament or the Yarra Valley Classic, but were forced to undergo strict quarantine measures upon arrival in Australia, were able to participate in the 2021 Grampians Trophy. The entry list of 2021 Australian Open was used to determine the entry list of this tournament; with half the players playing the Gippsland Trophy, and the other half playing the 2021 Yarra Valley Classic.

The 2021 Qatar Total Open was a professional women's tennis tournament, played in Doha, Qatar between the 1st and the 6th of March 2021. The tournament was played on hard courts at the International Tennis and Squash Complex, and was a WTA 500 event on the 2021 WTA Tour. Typically played in February one to two weeks following the Australian Open, the tournament was played in March this year in order to adjust for the delayed start of the 2021 tournament, which was held three weeks later than usual due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
