Group E of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualification tournament was one of the 13 groups to decide the teams which qualify for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations finals tournament. The group consisted of four teams: Zambia, Congo, Kenya, and Guinea-Bissau. [1]

2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualification

The 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualification matches were organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to decide the participating teams of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, the 31st edition of the international men's football championship of Africa. A total of 16 teams qualified to play in the final tournament, including Gabon who qualified automatically as hosts.

Zambia national football team national association football team

During the 1980s, they were known as the KK 11, after founding president Dr. Kenneth Kaunda ("KK") who ruled Zambia from 1964 to 1991. The Congo national football team, nicknamed the Diables Rouges , is the national team of the Republic of the Congo and is run by the Congolese Football Federation. They have never qualified for the World Cup, but did win the Africa Cup of Nations in 1972. They also won the All-Africa Games football tournament in 1965.

The teams played against each other home-and-away in a round-robin format, between June 2015 and September 2016. [2]

A round-robin tournament is a competition in which each contestant meets all other contestants in turn. A round-robin contrasts with an elimination tournament, in which participants are eliminated after a certain number of losses.

Guinea-Bissau, the group winner, qualified for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations. [3]

    The 2017 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations, officially known as the Total U-20 Africa Cup Of Nations, Zambia 2017, was the 14th edition of the Africa U-20 Cup of Nations, the biennial international youth football tournament organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for players aged 20 and below. The tournament was set to take place in Zambia between 26 February – 12 March 2017.

    The qualification phase of the 2017 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations decided the participating teams of the final tournament. A total of eight teams will play in the final tournament, to be hosted by Zambia.
