The Angolan Football Federation (Portuguese : Federação Angolana de Futebol; abbreviated as FAF) is the governing body of football in Angola. It was founded in 1979, and affiliated to FIFA and to CAF in 1980. It organizes the national football league Girabola and the national team.
Angola's first appearance in the FIFA World Cup was in 2006; playing in Group D, losing only 1–0 to Portugal in their first match. [1] Later that year, they successfully bid for the right to host the 2010 African Cup of Nations.
The Angola national football team represents Angola in men's international football and is controlled by the Angolan Football Federation. Nicknamed Palancas Negras, the team is a member of both FIFA and the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
Football is the most popular sport in Angola, The national team (m) qualified for the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany and many Angolan footballers play internationally, particularly in Portugal and France.
The 2011 Girabola was the 33rd season of top-tier football in Angola. The season ran from 12 March to 6 November 2011. Interclube were the defending champions, having won their 2nd Angolan championship in 2010.
The 2013 Girabola was the 35th season of top-tier football in Angola. The season ran from 26 February to 3 November 2013. Recreativo do Libolo were the defending champions. Kabuscorp were crowned champions having won their first title.

The 2014 Segundona was the 20th season of the second-tier football league in Angola. The season runs from 27 July to November, 2014. Académica do Lobito the current league champions, were promoted to the 2015 Girabola.
The 2015 Girabola was the 37th season of top-tier football in Angola. The season ran from 11 February to 10 October 2015. Recreativo do Libolo survived a late-season scare from 1º de Agosto to win their fourth Angolan championship, all in the past five years. Recreativo do Libolo needed a scoreless draw against Académica do Lobito in their final game to finish in a tie atop the standings with 1º de Agosto, who closed the season with six straight wins. Recreativo do Libolo won the tiebreaker based on head-to-head points.
