The 2017 Brantford Galaxy season was the sixth season in the club's participation in the Canadian Soccer League. They began the season on May 29, 2017, away against Royal Toronto FC. [1] The season concluded with Brantford securing a postseason berth by finishing fifth in the standings. In the preliminary round of the playoffs they were defeated by Scarborough SC. [2]
Before the commencement of the 2017 season a change in the managerial structure occurred with Saša Vuković being named the head coach. [3] Throughout the regular season Brantford struggled to achieve significant results, but still was awarded a playoff berth after finishing fifth in the standings. Their reserve team fared slightly better results as they finished fourth in the standings. In the opening round of the postseason the senior squad was eliminated by Scarborough SC, while their reserve team advanced to the next round after defeating the Serbian White Eagles B. [4] The following round they were eliminated from the playoff competition after a 7–0 defeat to FC Ukraine United. [5]

The 2016 Canadian Soccer League season was the 19th season under the Canadian Soccer League name. The first match of the season was played on May 21, 2016, and ended on October 30, 2016. The season concluded with Serbian White Eagles claiming their second CSL Championship by defeating expansion franchise Hamilton City SC by a score of 2-1. In the Second Division, the York Region Shooters B defeated Toronto Atomic FC B 2-1. During the regular season, York Region claimed their fifth regular-season title and achieved a team milestone by recording their best defensive record allowing only 10 goals a record not matched since the Ottawa Wizards in the 2003 CPSL season. Meanwhile, SC Waterloo acquired their third Second Division regular-season title.

Before the commencement of the outdoor season the White Eagles became a founding member in the Arena Premier League as an indoor team. Throughout the regular CSL season the Serbs struggled to compete for a top four position as their performance declined in the later stages. The club still managed to secure a postseason berth, but saw an early departure after a defeat to SC Waterloo Region in the opening round. The club's top goalscorer was Luka Bojić with five goals.

The season proved to be a successful one as Scarborough managed to compete in the top four and ultimately secured a playoff berth by finishing fourth in the First Division. Overall the season was a successful one for the club as they finished in the top four by finishing third in the First Division. The previous time Waterloo finished in the top four was in 2015. In the postseason Waterloo defeated the Serbian White Eagles FC, but were eliminated in the semifinals to FC Vorkuta.The club's top goalscorer was Miodrag Kovacevic, a former player in the Serbian First League with six goals.
The 2018 season was Brantford Galaxy's seventh season in the Canadian Soccer League. Their season began on May 25, 2018 in an away match against CSC Mississauga. Despite the team's mediocre season they still clinched the final playoff berth. Their participation in the postseason was short lived as they were eliminated by FC Ukraine United in the first round. While their reserve squad faced a similar fate in the Second Division after losing to FC Vorkuta B in the opening round. The club's top goalscorer was Slavko Knezevic with three goals.
The 2018 season was FC Ukraine United's third season in the Canadian Soccer League, and twelve season since their founding in the Ontario Soccer League. The season marked United's return to the First Division after participating in the Second Division the previous year. After a competitive season with FC Vorkuta the club won their first division title on September 23, 2018.In the postseason United won their preliminary match against Brantford Galaxy, but were defeated in the second round to Scarborough SC. Pavlo Lukyanets, a veteran striker from Ukraine was United's top goalscorer with twelve goals.
The 2018 season was Hamilton City SC's second season in the Canadian Soccer League. The season marked the return of Hamilton after a season's absence in order to reorganize. Their season began on May 19, 2018, in an away match to FC Vorkuta. Throughout the season Hamilton clinched an playoff berth after finishing fifth in the First Division. Their postseason journey came to a quick conclusion after a defeat to Scarborough SC in the Quarterfinals. The club's top goalscorer was Sani Dey with 13 goals, which made him the league's top goalscorer and was awarded the CSL Golden Boot.

The First Division title went to FC Vorkuta along with the Second Division title, and championship. The single new addition to the First Division was Kingsman SC, and the departures occurred in the Second Division with Halton United, London City, and Milton SC becoming founding members of the Canadian Academy of Soccer League (CASL).

The season commenced on August 15, 2020, and concluded with the CSL Championship final on October 17, 2020. FC Vorkuta defeated the reigning champions Scarborough SC at Racco Park in Vaughan, Ontario, and secured their second championship. While Scarborough made their fourth consecutive appearance in the championship final and claimed their first divisional title.
