Senate elections were held in Kazakhstan on 28 June 2017. [1] All 16 seats representing the regions of Kazakhstan were elected by the local legislative bodies (maslihats). 3242 of the 3293 eligible electorates voted in the election. [2] [3]
The members of the Senate of Kazakhstan are nonpartisan and are indirectly elected by the local legislative bodies Maslihats every six years. Each of the fourteen region and cities of Almaty and Astana are represented by two senators while 15 senators are appointed by the President of Kazakhstan. [4]

Snap presidential elections were held in Kazakhstan on 9 June 2019 to elect the President of Kazakhstan following the resignation of long-term President Nursultan Nazarbayev in March 2019. This was the sixth presidential election held since Kazakhstan's independence. The elections were not free and fair, and were widely denounced as a sham. Acting president Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Nur Otan won the election.
Jambyl Aujanuly Ahmetbekov is a Kazakh politician, from 2007 to 2023 he was the Secretary of Central Committee of the People's Party of Kazakhstan, and from 2012 to 2023 a member of the Mazhilis. He was a nominee for the Communist People's Party of Kazakhstan (QKHP) in the 2011 and 2019 Kazakh presidential election.

From February 2006 to May 2008, he was the Äkim of Turkistan and continued serving as deputy until 2014. He served as the chairman of Auyl People's Democratic Patriotic Party from 2015 to 2023.

The Astana City Mäslihat is a unicameral legislature of Kazakhstan’s capital city of Astana. The councillors of the City Mäslihat are elected concurrently with the MP's of the Mäjilis. The City Mäslihat councillors perform their duties by approving plans, economic and social programs for the city's development.

The East Kazakhstan Regional Mäslihat is a unicameral local legislative body of the East Kazakhstan Region which convenes in Oskemen. It is composed of 38 members from three parties of Nur Otan (NO), Ak Zhol Democratic Party (AJ), and Auyl People's Democratic Patriotic Party (AUYL) whom are elected every five years through proportional representation. The current Mäslihat Secretary is Denis Rypakov (NO).
Municipal elections were held in Kazakhstan where 730 äkıms whose four-year terms expired were reelected for the first time directly by the population on 25 July 2021 following an introduction of new law by the Parliament, which allowed for direct elections for äkıms of cities with district importance, villages, and the townships of rural districts. From there, the ruling Nur Otan party won majority of 627 municipal races with most of its candidates being incumbents who occupied the äkım positions prior, followed by the Auyl People's Democratic Patriotic Party, Adal, Ak Zhol Democratic Party, People's Party of Kazakhstan, and the Nationwide Social Democratic Party where it secured local race victory in West Kazakhstan Region.
Local elections were held in Kazakhstan on 7 March 1994 for the first time to elect 5,935 members of the mäslihats (local assemblies). The mäslihat elections coincided with the legislative elections and the voter turnout was reported to be 73.52%.
Baytaq, officially the "Baytaq" Green Party of Kazakhstan is a green political party in Kazakhstan. The leader of the party is Azamathan Ämirtai, a member of the National Kurultai under the President. Previously he was a member of the Board of Directors of JSC National Managing Holding KazAgro and the National Council of Public Trust under the President.
