The 2017 UNCAF Women's Interclub Championship (Spanish: 2017 Campeonato Interclubes Femenino de UNCAF) was the second edition of the UNCAF Women's Club Championship, Central America's premier women's club football organized by UNCAF. The tournament was played in Managua, Nicaragua between 4 and 9 September 2017. [1] [2]

Contents

In the final, Moravia from Costa Rica defeated UNAN Managua from Nicaragua to win their second consecutive title. All games were 80 minutes in duration. [3]

The UNCAF Club Tournament was an annual international football competition held in the UNCAF region. The competition was open to the leading domestic club teams in the region. The winners of each national league qualified automatically. It also provided qualification places for the CONCACAF Champions' Cup, to which the top three teams advanced. Starting in 2008, all of the Central American nations have one or two teams qualifying directly to the expanded CONCACAF Champions League, thus this tournament ceased to be played.

The UNCAF Nations Cup 2009 was the tenth edition of the UNCAF Nations Cup, the biennial football (soccer) tournament for the CONCACAF-affiliated national teams of Central America. The first five places qualified for the 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup. The event was going to take place in Panama City, Panama between January 22 and February 1, 2009, but the Panamanian FA announced that they would not host the event due to not having an adequate stadium available for the time period of the tournament. The alternative hosts were Honduras and Guatemala. Honduras submitted an official replacement bid on November 12, and after some consideration it was moved to Honduras. All games were played in Estadio Tiburcio Carías Andino in Tegucigalpa. The tournament was sponsored by Digicel. On 1 February 2009 Panama won the tournament, the first UNCAF Nations Cup win in the country's history.

The 2011 Copa Centroamericana was the eleventh edition of Copa Centroamericana, an international football championship for national teams affiliated with the Central American Football Union (UNCAF) of the CONCACAF region. It took place in Panama from January 14 to January 23, 2011. It was the second time for Panama to host the tournament. On January 23, 2011 Honduras won the cup by defeating Costa Rica 2-1 in the final. The top five teams from this tournament qualified for the 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup. The group stage draw was conducted on September 2, 2010 in Panama City.

The Association football competition at the 2010 Central American and Caribbean Games were set to start 21 July, although qualification took take place beforehand. All participants had to be born on or after 1 January 1989. On 13 July 2010 the organizing committee for the games (Comaz) announced that the event would not be held because CONCACAF had threatened to sanction countries that participated.

Liga Deportiva Alajuelense Femenil, also known as Alajuelense Fútbol Femenino and Alajuelense Femenil, is a women's football team that competes in the Costa Rican Women's Premier Division, the top division of women's football in Costa Rica. It is affiliated with men's side Liga Deportiva Alajuelense and was formed through an agreement with the Comite Cantonal de Deportes y Recreación de Alajuela (CODEA); the club first competed as Alajuelense CODEA in 2019.
