The 2018 Indonesian Movie Actors Awards was the 12th annual Indonesian Movie Actors Awards show that was held at studio 14 MNC Studios, Jakarta and was organised by RCTI. Daniel Mananta and Nirina Zubir hosted this event and the event was attended by the CEO of MNC Group, Hary Tanoesoedibjo. [1] This event was postponed from May to July, due to a collision with Eid al-Fitr.
In this awards show, the film Dilan 1990 succeeded in becoming the Favorite Film of the Viewers' Choice. [2] This film, along with the film Marlina the Murderer in Four Acts managed to achieve 3 awards and become the films with the most wins this year. [3]

The Lifetime Achievement award is given to the person who is considered the most dedicated to the world of Indonesian cinema that year. This year the award is given to a senior actor, Adi Kurdi for his dedication and totality in Indonesian cinema. [5] In addition, this year the Special Awards were also given to Amoroso Katamsi and Deddy Sutomo.

Dilan 1990 is a 2018 Indonesian coming of age romantic drama film. It is based on the novel Dilan: Dia adalah Dilanku Tahun 1990 by Pidi Baiq. The film stars Iqbaal Ramadhan and Vanesha Prescilla as the main roles, with some high-profile names in supporting, minor, or cameo roles; Farhan, Happy Salma, Adhisty Zara of idol group JKT48, and Ridwan Kamil, the then-Mayor of Bandung. The film has been watched by 6.3 million people. It is the best-selling Indonesian film of 2018 and the second best-selling Indonesian film of all time, just behind Warkop DKI Reborn: Jangkrik Boss! Adi Kurdi was an Indonesian film and television actor known for his role as Abah in the television drama series, Keluarga Cemara, which aired from 1996 until 2005, with a series finale on TV7. His film credits included Aku Ingin Menciummu Sekali Saja (2002), Anak-Anak Borobudur (2007), and 3 Hari Untuk Selamanya (2007). Kurdi won the Maya Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for the film Catatan Dodol Calon Dokter in 2016
