The 2018 International Friendship Championship was a friendly football tournament for the national teams of Iraq, Syria and Qatar. It took place during the March 2018 window of the FIFA International Match Calendar, [1] and began less than a week after FIFA lifted the ban on competitive games being played inside Iraq.

The tournament was originally scheduled to take place in Karbala but was relocated to Basra. [2] Qatar won the title by beating hosts Iraq and drawing with runners-up Syria. The last game of the tournament saw Noor Sabri make his 100th and last appearance for Iraq.

23rd Arabian Gulf Cup 2017–18 football competition held in Kuwait

The 23rd Arabian Gulf Cup was the 23rd edition of the biennial football competition for the eight members of the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation. It took place in Kuwait from 22 December 2017 until 5 January 2018. Oman won their second title, defeating the United Arab Emirates in the final on penalties following a goalless draw.

The 2015 AFC Cup knockout stage was played from 26 May to 31 October 2015. A total of 16 teams competed in the knockout stage to decide the champions of the 2015 AFC Cup.

The second round of AFC matches for 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification was played from 24 May 2015 to 29 March 2016.

The 2016 AFC U-19 Championship was the 39th edition of the AFC U-19 Championship, the biennial international youth football championship organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for the men's under-19 national teams of Asia. The tournament was hosted by Bahrain, as announced by the AFC on 3 June 2015, and was scheduled to be played between 13–30 October 2016. A total of 16 teams played in the tournament.

Al-Qurna SC Iraqi football club

Al-Qurna Sport Club, is an Iraqi football team based in Al-Qurna, Basra, that plays in Iraq Division Two.

The 2018 AFC Cup group stage was played from 10 February to 16 May 2018. A total of 36 teams competed in the group stage to decide the 11 places in the knockout stage of the 2018 AFC Cup.

The 2019 West Asian Football Federation Championship, also called Asiacell WAFF Championship Iraq 2019 due to sponsorship by Asiacell, was the 9th edition of the WAFF Championship, an international tournament for member nations of the West Asian Football Federation (WAFF). It was hosted in Iraq for the first time, in the cities of Karbala and Erbil.

The 2019 International Friendship Championship was a football tournament for the national teams of Iraq, Syria and Jordan. It was scheduled to take place during the March 2019 window of the FIFA International Match Calendar.

The AFC second round of 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification, which also served as the second round of 2023 AFC Asian Cup qualification, was played from 5 September 2019 to 15 June 2021.

The 2019–20 season will be Al-Minaa's 44th season in the Iraqi Premier League, having featured in all 46 editions of the competition except two. Al-Minaa are participating in the Iraqi Premier League and the Iraq FA Cup.

The third round of AFC matches for the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification was played from 2 September 2021 to 29 March 2022.

2021 FIFA Arab Cup 10th Arab Cup, held in Qatar in 2021

The 2021 FIFA Arab Cup was the 10th edition of the Arab Cup, the Arab world's national team football tournament; it was the first edition under FIFA's jurisdiction. It took place between 30 November and 18 December in Qatar, as a prelude to the 2022 FIFA World Cup which will also be held in Qatar.
