The International Judo Federation (IJF) was founded in July 1951. The IJF was originally composed of judo federations from Europe plus Argentina. Countries from four continents were affiliated over the next ten years. Today the IJF has 200 National Federations on all continents. There are over 20 million people around the globe who practice judo, according to the IJF.
The World Judo Championships are the highest level of international judo competition, along with the Olympic judo competition. The championships are held once every year by the International Judo Federation, and qualified judoka compete in their respective categories as representatives of their home countries. Team competitions have also been held since 1994. The men's championships began in 1956, though the format and periodicity of the championships have changed over time. The last edition of the championships took place in Tokyo, Japan in 2019.
Varlam Liparteliani is a Georgian judoka. He has won silver at Olympic and World level.
Sagi Aharon Muki is an Israeli half-middleweight judoka. Muki is the 2019 World Champion. He also won the 2015 and 2018 European championships.
Guram Tushishvili is a Georgian judoka. He won a gold medal at the 2018 World Judo Championships in men's +100 kg event. Tushishvili also won a gold medal in 2017 European Judo Championships in men's +100 kg event. In 29 March 2019 International Judo Federation disqualified before 29 May 2019. In 2020, he won one of the bronze medals in the men's +100 kg event at the 2020 European Judo Championships held in Prague, Czech Republic.
Baruch Shmailov is an Israeli judoka. He competes in the under 66 kg weight category, and won a silver medal in the 2018 World Masters in Guangzhou. Shmailov won a bronze in the 2017 World Masters, and in 2018 Düsseldorf Grand Slam. In March 2018 he was ranked #5 in the world in the U66 kg division. He competed for Israel at the 2020 Summer Olympics.
Tohar Butbul is an Israeli judoka. He competes in the under 73 kg weight category, where he won silver medals at the 2019 Judo World Masters and the 2021 European Championships, and won bronze medals in the 2017 Paris Grand Slam and 2017 Abu Dhabi Grand Slam. As of March 2018 he was ranked #9 in the world in the U73 kg division.
Peter Paltchik is a Ukrainian-born Israeli judoka, competing in the under 100 kg weight category, of which he is the current number 1 ranked Judoka in the world. In September 2019 he won the Israeli championship in the 100+ Kg category. Paltchik won the gold medal at the 2020 European Judo Championships in Prague on November 21, 2020, beating Russian judoka Arman Adamian in the final, Adding to his bronze medal from the 2018 European Judo Championships in Tel Aviv. Paltchik also won a bronze medal in the mixed team judo competition in the 2021 Olympics.

The 2017 Judo World Masters was a judo tournament held in Saint Petersburg, Russia, from 16–17 December 2017.
Diyora Keldiyorova is an Uzbekistani judoka. In 2019, she won the gold medal in the women's 52 kg event at the 2019 Asian-Pacific Judo Championships held in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates.

Arman Azatovich Adamian is a Russian judoka. In 2019, he won the gold medal in the men's 100 kg event at the 2019 European Games held in Minsk, Belarus.
Astride Gneto is a French judoka. In 2018, she won one of the bronze medals in the women's 52 kg event at the 2018 Mediterranean Games held in Tarragona, Spain.
Mélanie Clément is a French judoka. She competed at the World Judo Championships in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2021.
The Judo World Masters is an annual invite-only judo competition. After being open for only the top 16 ranked judoka in each weight class for its first eight installments, the tournament was expended to host the top 36 of each weight class in 2019. The world masters is the only world tour event with no limitation on the number of judoka competing from any single national association.
The IJF World Tour is a worldwide top-tier judo tour, organized by the International Judo Federation since 2009.
