Local elections in Slovenia took place on 18 November 2018. Mayors of all 212 Slovenian municipalities and members of municipal councils were elected. A second round of mayoral elections took place on 2 December 2018.

Styria is an Austrian state in southeastern Austria. With an area of 16,401 km2 (6,332 sq mi), Styria is the second largest province of Austria, after Lower Austria. Styria is bordered to the south by Slovenia, and clockwise, from the southwest, by the Austrian provinces Carinthia, Salzburg, Upper Austria, Lower Austria, and Burgenland. The state's capital is Graz.
The Slovenian People's Party is a conservative, agrarian, Christian-democratic political party in Slovenia. Formed in 1988 under the name of Slovenian Peasant Union as the first democratic political organization in Yugoslavia, it changed its name to Slovenian People's Party in 1992. On 15 April 2000 it merged with the Slovene Christian Democrats to form the SLS+SKD Slovenian People's Party, and changed its name in 2001 to Slovenian People's Party.
The Democratic Party of Pensioners of Slovenia is a political party in Slovenia led by Ljubo Jasnič. The party claims broadly liberal values with a strong focus on the interests of the retired and the elderly. Despite being part of virtually every governmental coalition of Slovenia since it started appearing on voting ballots, the party only secured 0.66% of all votes at the most recent Slovenian parliamentary election in 2022 and thus failed to secure any seats in the National Assembly.
The 2004 European Parliament election in Slovenia was the election of MEP representing Slovenia constituency for the 2004-2009 term of the European Parliament. It was part of the wider 2004 European election. The vote took place on 13 June.
Zoran Janković is a Slovenian businessman and politician serving as Mayor of Ljubljana since April 2012. He previously served as mayor from 2006 to 2011.
Peter Bossman is a Ghanaian-born Slovenian physician and politician. He was mayor of Piran, a city and municipality in Slovenian Istria in south-western Slovenia. A member of the centre-left Social Democrats, he defeated the incumbent mayor Tomaž Gantar in the October 2010 mayoral election to become Slovenia's first black mayor. In 2011 he was also appointed to the Committee of the Regions of the European Union.
Parliamentary elections were held in Slovenia on 4 December 2011 to elect the 90 deputies of the National Assembly. This was the first early election in Slovenia's history. The election was surprisingly won by the center-left Positive Slovenia party, led by Zoran Janković. However, he failed to be elected as the new Prime Minister in the National Assembly, and the new government was instead formed by a right-leaning coalition of five parties, led by Janez Janša, the president of the second-placed Slovenian Democratic Party. The voter turnout was 65.60%.
Positive Slovenia was a centre-left political party in Slovenia, following April 2014 led by founder Zoran Janković. The party was founded under the name Zoran Janković's List – Positive Slovenia. It was renamed to Positive Slovenia in its second congress, held on 21 January 2012.
The 2018 election for Mayor of Newark took place in Newark, the most populous city in New Jersey, USA, on May 8, 2018. Elections for all seats on the nine member Municipal Council of Newark was held the same day. A runoff election, if necessary, would have taken place on June 5, 2018. Elections are non-partisan and candidates are not listed by political party. Incumbent Mayor Ras Baraka avoided a runoff after winning a second term with 77 percent of the votes.
Marjan Šarec is a Slovenian politician, actor and comedian who served as prime minister of Slovenia from 2018 to 2020. He has served as the minister of defence in the government of Prime Minister Robert Golob since 1 June 2022.
The 2018 Oklahoma City mayoral election took place on February 13, 2018, to elect the Mayor of Oklahoma City. The election was won by David Holt. Since Holt won a majority in the initial round of the election, a runoff was not required.
