The 2019 Dutch Athletics Championships was the national championship in outdoor track and field for the Netherlands. It was held on 25 to 28 July at the Sportpark Laan van Poot in The Hague. It served as the selection meeting for the Netherlands at the 2019 World Championships in Athletics. It was organised by local club Haag Atletiek and Atletiekunie. The long jump competitions were held within the Hague city centre in 25 July while the 10,000 metres took place earlier at the annual Golden Spike Leiden meeting on 8 June.

The Cars Jeans Stadion is a multi-use stadium in The Hague, Netherlands, designed by Zwarts & Jansma Architects. Completed in 2007, the stadium is used mostly for football and field hockey. It is also the home stadium of ADO Den Haag. It has a capacity of 15,000 people, and replaced ADO's former stadium Zuiderpark which was considerably smaller. Due to UEFA's sponsorship regulations, the stadium is named ADO Den Haag Stadium on European matches.
The Netherlands were represented by 36 athletes at the 2010 European Athletics Championships held at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys in Barcelona, Spain from 27 July to 1 August 2010.
Jamile Samuel is a female Dutch athlete sprinter, who specialises in the 100 and 200 metres. She won three bronze medals at the 2010 World Junior Championships in Athletics, thus establishing herself as the third-fastest female runner under the age of 20 in the world. She won a gold medal with the Dutch women’s 4 × 100 m relay team at the 2016 European Championships in Amsterdam.
Nadine Broersen is a Dutch track and field athlete, specializing in the heptathlon and high jump. She holds the current national record in the high jump with 1.94m. She is the 2014 World Indoor pentathlon champion. She competes for the track and field club AV Sprint in Breda.
Bashir Abdi is a Somali-Belgian athlete who specialises in long-distance running. He entered the 10,000 m 2014 European athletics championships with the European leading time set on 4 May.
Nadine Visser is a Dutch athlete. She originally specialised in the heptathlon, but eventually switched to high hurdles. Visser is the 2017 European Athletics U23 Champion on the 100 m hurdles, and the 2019 European Athletics Indoor Champion on the 60 m hurdles. Visser is coached by Bart Bennema, who is also the coach of Dafne Schippers.

She represented the Netherlands at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and she won the bronze medal in the women's long jump T44 event. She also competed in the women's 100 metres T44 event where she finished in 7th place. She has qualified to represent the Netherlands at the 2020 Summer Paralympics in Tokyo, Japan after winning the silver medal in the women's 100 metres T64 event at the 2019 World Para Athletics Championships held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. She also won the silver medal in the women's long jump T64 event.
Lara Baars is a Dutch Paralympic athlete competing in shot put and discus throw events. She was born with achondroplasia, a form of dwarfism.
Kimberly Alkemade is a Dutch Paralympic athlete. She represented the Netherlands at the 2019 World Para Athletics Championships held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates and won a silver medal in the women's 200 metres T64 event and the bronze medal in the women's 100 metres T64 event. Because of her two medals she qualified to represent the Netherlands at the 2020 Summer Paralympics in Tokyo, Japan.

The 2020 Dutch Athletics Championships was the national championship in outdoor track and field for the Netherlands. It was held 29–30 August 2020 at the Sportpark Maarschalkerweerd in Utrecht. It was organised by local organisations AV Phoenix and U-track. The competition was originally scheduled earlier in the year, and to include qualification for the 2020 European Athletics Championships, but the events were delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This necessitated a change of location and events were carried out without an audience. The 10,000 metres races were held separately at the Golden Spike Leiden meet on 19 September.
