2019 Ukrainian Athletics Championships among the athletes of the senior age category was held from 21 to 23 August in Lutsk at Avanhard Stadium.
Throughout the year, a number of standalone national championships in different events not contested in Lutsk were held among the athletes of the senior age category.
In total, 15 cities and villages from 11 oblasts of Ukraine will host the senior national championships in athletics:

Yaremche is a city in Nadvirna Raion, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast (province) of west Ukraine. The city is located at the altitude of around 580 metres (1,900 ft) above mean sea level. Yaremche hosts the administration of Yaremche urban hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. Population: 7,907 .
FC Nyva Ternopil is a Ukrainian football club from the city of Ternopil, the administrative center of Ternopil Oblast. As of the 2020–21 season, it played in the Ukrainian First League, the second tier of Ukrainian football, following promotion from the 2019–20 Ukrainian Second League. Originally the club was formed as Nyva Pidhaitsi in the small town Pidhaitsi in 1978, then moved to a district centre Berezhany changing its name to Nyva Berezhany in 1982, and finally moved to Ternopil becoming Nyva Ternopil in 1985. In 2016 the club withdrew from the professional competitions and was reestablished as PFC Nyva Ternopil.
Slavsko is an urban-type settlement in Stryi Raion, Lviv Oblast, Ukraine. It's located 600 metres (2,000 ft) above sea level close to the city of Skole, 130 kilometres (81 mi) southwest of Lviv. Slavsko is an urban village and a popular ski resort in the Skole Beskids range of the Carpathian mountains in western Ukraine. It's one of the biggest Ukrainian winter sports centers. It hosts the administration of Slavsko settlement hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. Population: 3,537 .
FC Prykarpattia Ivano-Frankivsk was a professional Ukrainian football team in the Ukrainian Second League since 2004 till 2012.
The Ukrainian Hockey Championship is an annual ice hockey award and national title, bestowed to the ice hockey organization judged to have the best performing team in Ukraine, founded in 1992. Prior to the 2015–16 season, the league playing for the title took the name Ukrainian Hockey Extra League. In 2016, the new Ukrainian Hockey League was created instead, which folded in 2021.

The 2011–12 Ukrainian Second League was the 21st season of 3rd level professional football in Ukraine. There are two groups of competition divided by region. Both Group competitions began on July 23, 2011. The competition had a winter break from November 6, 2012 and until April 2, 2012. The group competitions will complete on 28 May 2012. The championship game was played between the top teams of each group competition on 2 June 2012.

Mezhybrody village is located in a picturesque corner of the Carpathians of Skole district, at the foot of where the two mountain rivers — Stryi River and Opir River. Village is located close to Highway M06 (Ukraine). It belongs to Skole urban hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. Local government — Verkhnosynovydnenska settlement council. Population of the village amounts to only 214 people.

The Ukrainian Athletics Championships is an annual outdoor track and field competition organised by the Ukrainian Athletic Federation, which serves as the national championship for the sport in Ukraine.
Ukraine competed at the 2019 World Championships in Athletics, which was held in Doha between 27 September and 6 October, in a team of 41 athletes, who participated in 22 events. Four athletes had been included to the final entry lists but did not participate in the events including Anastasiia Bryzgina, Yana Kachur, Ivanna Avramchuk and Dmytro Bikulov.

The 2020–21 Ukrainian Cup was the 30th annual season of Ukraine's football knockout competition. The competition started on 26 August 2020 and concluded on 13 May 2021 with the final at the Ternopilsky Misky Stadion in Ternopil.
The 2021–22 Ukrainian Cup was the 31st annual season of Ukraine's football knockout competition. The competition started on 4 August 2021 and was expected to be concluded on 11 May 2022 with the final. The Ukrainian Association of Football announced that the new competition sponsor is a betting company VBet, same as for the Ukrainian Premier League. Dynamo Kyiv were the two-time defending winners.

The 2020 Western Ukraine Floods is a natural disaster that caused a significant increase in the water level of the rivers of the western regions of Ukraine, in particular, the Dniester, Prut, Cheremosh, and Bystrytsi rivers, which occurred on the 20th of June 2020 as a result of intense thunderstorm rains.
