The 2019 GFF Elite League is the 18th season of the GFF Elite League, the top-tier football in Guyana. The season started on 15 March 2019. [1] Many games took place at the 2,000-capacity Georgetown Football Stadium.

Anthony 'Awo' Joseph Abrams is a Guyanese footballer who plays as a striker for Fruta Conquerors FC in the GFF Elite League. He previously played for Alpha United, Bakewell Topp XX and Slingerz FC; Caledonia AIA and Joe Public in the TT Pro League, and for Leo Victor in the Hoofdklasse where he finished as top scorer of the 2008–09 season with 22 goals. He is considered one of the best players in the history of Guyana, having amassed 61 caps for the national team.

Jamaal Shabazz is a Trinidadian football manager, who is the current head coach of the Guyana national football team. He is known for four different stints in charge of Guyana.

The 2013–14 GFF National Super League is the 14th season of the highest competitive football league in Guyana, after it was founded in 1990.

Slingerz FC is a Guyanese football club based in Vergenoegen. The club competes in the West Demerara Senior League, one of several regional leagues in Guyana. Founded in 2013, the club never qualified for the GFF National Super League, the top football league in Guyana at the time. However, the team has been very successful in Guyana's many cup competitions, including winning the Mayors Cup, Guyana's top cup competition, in 2015 after finishing runners-up in the previous tournament in 2013. The team has also finished champions or runners-up in several smaller cup competitions.

The Elite League, often referred to as GFF Elite League is the top level of the football system in Guyana. Contested by 10 clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation. Top level before GFF Elite League was GFF National Super League.

The 2015–16 GFF Elite League was the 15th season of the highest competitive football league in Guyana, and the 1st season of the Elite League. Eight FIFA licensed clubs participated in the inaugural Elite League season. The season was split into two parts. Each half consisted of 14 rounds, with each team playing the other 7 teams twice each. In each round, the top 4 teams advanced to the playoffs. The winners of each half then faced off to determine the overall champion. The two half-season champions also advanced to the 2017 CFU Club Championship.

Fruta Conquerors FC is a Guyanese football club in Georgetown. The club competes in the GFF Elite League, the top league of football in Guyana. They were league champions in 2000–01, 2017–18 and 2019. The club is named for their sponsor, the beverage company Fruta. They were an inaugural member of the Elite League in 2015–16.
