Georgetown Football Stadium is a multi-use stadium on Vlissengen Road in Georgetown, Guyana. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium holds 2,000 people. [1]

It formerly hosted international venues. [2] [3] It's the main venue for local teams in the GFF Elite League: GDF, Milerock, Santos, and the Western Tigers. [4]

The Elite League, often referred to as GFF Elite League is the top level of the football system in Guyana. Contested by 10 clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation. Top level before GFF Elite League was GFF National Super League.

The 2015–16 GFF Elite League was the 15th season of the highest competitive football league in Guyana, and the 1st season of the Elite League. Eight FIFA licensed clubs participated in the inaugural Elite League season. The season was split into two parts. Each half consisted of 14 rounds, with each team playing the other 7 teams twice each. In each round, the top 4 teams advanced to the playoffs. The winners of each half then faced off to determine the overall champion. The two half-season champions also advanced to the 2017 CFU Club Championship.
