2020 Czech Lion Awards ceremony will be held in March 2021. [2] Awards underwent changes as new Categories were added. Animated film and Web works will be newly Awarded in their respective Categories. Some categories became open for Television and Web works as a result of increase in Television work quality. [3] [4]

Václav Kopta was announced to host ceremony scheduled for 6 March 2021. Nominations were announced on 18 January 2021. [5] Shadow Country was nominated in 15 categories while Charlatan and Havel in 14 categories. [6] Charlatan was awarded the Best film award while Shadow Country received most wins. [7]

Old-Timers is a 2019 Czech thriller starring Jiří Schmitzer and Ladislav Mrkvička. It was directed by Martin Dušek and Ondřej Provazník.

Owners is a 2019 Czech comedy film directed by Jiří Havelka, which he made according to his own screenplay. The story is based on the play The Society of Owners (Condominium), which Havelka also wrote and directed, and was presented by the theater company Vosto5. The performance won the Divadelní noviny award in the category of alternative theater.

<i>Charlatan</i> (2020 film) 2020 film

Charlatan is a 2020 Czech-Polish-Irish-Slovak drama directed by Agnieszka Holland based loosely on the healer Jan Mikolášek (1889–1973), who cured hundreds of people using plant-based remedies. It was selected as the Czech entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 93rd Academy Awards making the February shortlist. It won five awards including Best Film at the 2021 Czech Lion Awards.

<i>Daughter</i> (2019 film) 2019 Czech film

Daughter is a 2019 Czech short animated drama film directed by Daria Kashcheeva. The film received 38 awards during half a year after its premiere at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, including the Annecy Cristal for the best film in the graduation films category, and a Student Academy Award. It was also nominated for the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film.

<i>Shadow Country</i> (film) 2020 Czech historical drama film

Shadow Country is a 2020 Czech historical drama film directed by Bohdan Sláma. It is inspired by Tušť massacre from May 1945. It chronicles life of a small village from 1930s to 1950s. The film premiered at the 2020 Summer Film School Uherské Hradiště and is set to release to theatres on 10 September 2020. The film won six Czech Lion Awards including Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress, and Best Screenplay.

2021 Czech Lion Awards ceremony was held on 5 March 2022.

The Žebřík Music Awards is a Czech awards show organized by music and style magazine iReport to honor the best artists in Czech Republic and internationally. It was first held in 1993 to announce the winners of their 1992 poll, following the same pattern ever since. The ceremony is usually held every year at Plzeň's DEPO2015, except in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which led winners from both 2019 and 2020 polls to be reported in 2021.

Czech Lion Award for Best Animated Film is an award given to the best Czech animated film. It was established in 2020.

<i>Cosmic</i> (TV series) Czech TV series or program

Cosmic is a Czech Science fiction sitcom. It is about Czech flight to the Moon which was to be funded by money from the European Union. The money was tunnelled but the flitght must still happen due to impending fine.

#martyisdead is a Czech thriller webseries that was released on 20 October 2019 Mall.TV. It was created in cooperation with CZ.NIC, filmed by the Czech company Bionaut. It deals with cyberbullying and was inspired by real events. It won the main prize at the Serial Killer festival, where it premiered. In September 2020, #martyisdead was historically the first Czech series to be nominated for an international Emmy Award, in the category of Short-Form Series. The series won the award in November. In March 2021, he won the Czech Lion Award for the Extraordinary achievement in the field of audiovisual.
