The 2009 European Parliament election in Czech Republic was the election of the delegation from Czech Republic to the European Parliament in 2009. The Civic Democratic Party has won the election with a surprisingly strong lead against the Czech Social Democratic Party. Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia came third and the Christian and Democratic Union – Czechoslovak People's Party became the last party to enter the Parliament.

The Czech Footballer of the Year is awarded in the Czech Republic by the Football Association of the Czech Republic. Eligibility extends to Czech players in the Czech Republic and abroad. Awards for young player, coach and Czech First League personality of the year are also awarded. The award was first presented in 1965, as an award for the whole of Czechoslovakia. Finále Plzeň is a film festival based in the Czech Republic. It focuses on Czech feature and documentary films. The best film is awarded the Golden Kingfisher by a jury. It was founded in 1967 and the first year was held in 1968. The festival was held in 1970 but the Golden Kingfisher wasn't awarded. The festival wasn't held again until 1990, when 12 films were awarded the Kingfisher to represent Czech and Slovak cinematography from the 1969-1990 period.

The Painted Bird is a 2019 internationally co-produced black and white war drama film written, directed and produced by Václav Marhoul. An adaptation of Jerzy Kosiński's novel of the same name, it is the first film to feature the Interslavic language; Marhoul stated that he decided to use Interslavic so that no Slavic nation would nationally identify with the story.

The 50th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival took place from 3 to 11 July 2015. The Crystal Globe was won by Bob and the Trees, an American fictional vérité drama film directed by Diego Ongaro. The second prize, the Special Jury Prize was won by Those Who Fall Have Wings, an Austrian drama film directed by Peter Brunner.

2016 Czech Lion Awards ceremony was held on 4 March 2017. A Prominent Patient has won 12 awards, including Best picture film.

2001 Czech Lion Awards ceremony was held on 2 March 2002. Jan Švankmajer's Little Otik has won the Best film award.

2020 Czech Lion Awards ceremony will be held in March 2021. Awards underwent changes as new Categories were added. Animated film and Web works will be newly Awarded in their respective Categories. Some categories became open for Television and Web works as a result of increase in Television work quality.
