The Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia is a communist party in the Czech Republic. It has a membership of 42,994 (2016) and is a member party of the European United Left–Nordic Green Left bloc in the European Parliament.
The Czech First League, known as the Fortuna liga for sponsorship reasons, is a Czech professional league for football clubs. At the top of the Czech football league system, it is the country's primary football competition. It is contested by 16 clubs, operating a system of promotion and relegation with the Czech National Football League. Since 2018/19 seasons run from July to May, with teams playing 30 games each. Then teams are divided into three groups playing superstructure for final positions. The league is currently ranked 11th in Europe in the UEFA league rankings.

The European Parliament election of 2009 in Czech Republic was the election of the delegation from Czech Republic to the European Parliament in 2009. The Civic Democratic Party has won the election with a surprisingly strong lead against the Czech Social Democratic Party. Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia came third and the Christian and Democratic Union – Czechoslovak People's Party became the last party to enter the Parliament.
A legislative election in the Czech Republic took place on 28–29 May 2010 to elect the members of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic. The election had been expected to take place sometime before the end of 2009, but was postponed due to legal challenges. Before the election, the country had been governed by a caretaker administration headed by Jan Fischer. The Czech Social Democratic Party (ČSSD) was the front-runner of the election and its leader Jiří Paroubek was favourite to become the new Prime Minister.
Vlastimil Palička is a Czech football manager and former player. He managed FK Jablonec in the Gambrinus liga between 2001 and 2003. He has also managed three other top-flight clubs in the Czech Republic and one in Slovakia.
The 2003 Czech presidential election took place in January and February 2003 to elect a new President of the Czech Republic. The Parliament of the Czech Republic failed to elect a candidate on the first 2 ballots on the 15 and 24 January. However, on the third round of the third ballot on the 28 February, Václav Klaus was elected President.
The first direct presidential election in the Czech Republic was held on 11–12 January 2013. No candidate received a majority of the votes in the first round, so a second round runoff election was held on 25–26 January. Nine individuals secured enough popular signatures or support of parliamentarians to become official candidates for the office. Miloš Zeman (SPOZ) and Karel Schwarzenberg qualified for the second round of the election.
The 2017 Czech legislative election was held in the Czech Republic on 20 and 21 October 2017. All 200 members of the Chamber of Deputies were elected and the leader of the resultant government – Andrej Babiš of ANO 2011, became the Prime Minister.
Jiří Drahoš is a Czech physical chemist and politician, who has been Senator for the Prague 4 district since October 2018. Previously, Drahoš served as President of the Czech Academy of Sciences from 2009 to 2017, and was a candidate for the President of the Czech Republic in the 2018 election.
Marek Hilšer is a Czech political activist and university lecturer. He stood to become Czech president in the 2018 presidential election, but finished fifth in the first round, failing to advance.
Finále Plzeň is a film festival based in the Czech Republic. It focuses on Czech feature and documentary films. The best film is awarded the Golden Kingfisher by a jury. It was founded in 1967 and the first year was held in 1968. The festival was held in 1970 but the Golden Kingfisher wasn't awarded. The festival wasn't held again until 1990, when 12 films were awarded the Kingfisher to represent Czech and Slovak cinematography from the 1969-1990 period.
The 2019 European Parliament election in the Czech Republic will be held in May 2019, electing the 21 members of the Czech delegation to the European Parliament as part of the European elections held across the European Union.

Žhavé léto 3 ½ an action/adventure/driving game developed by Centauri Production and CINEMAX, published by Akella in 2006, rounded off the trilogy. Evil Days of Luckless John is a 2006 Czech action adventure video game developed by Centauri Production and published by Playlogic. It is a spin-off to Horké léto's. In Russia it was published by Akella.

From 21 May 2018 to 14 June 2018 the Czech Social Democratic Party (ČSSD) held a referendum to determine whether it should join the minority government of Andrej Babiš with potential confidence and supply from the Communist Party.
The 2024 IIHF World Championship will be hosted by the Czech Republic. This decision was made at the semi-annual IIHF congress, which is now held in Malta. Officially, this will be announced in May 2019 at the annual congress of the International Ice Hockey Federation during the World Championships in Slovakia.
