Anthropoid is a 2016 war film directed by Sean Ellis and starring Cillian Murphy, Jamie Dornan, Charlotte Le Bon, Anna Geislerová, Harry Lloyd, and Toby Jones. It was written by Ellis and Anthony Frewin. It tells the story of Operation Anthropoid, the World War II assassination of Reinhard Heydrich by exiled Czechoslovak soldiers Jozef Gabčík and Jan Kubiš on 27 May 1942. It was released on 12 August 2016 in the United States and 9 September 2016 in the United Kingdom.

A Prominent Patient is a 2016 Czech-Slovak biographical drama film directed by Julius Ševčík. It was screened in the Berlinale Special section at the 67th Berlin International Film Festival. It won twelve Czech Lions including the Czech Lion for Best Film. The film was first screened in Lucerna Kino.

2019 Czech Lion Awards ceremony was held on 7 March 2020. It will be moderated by Václav Kopta. Nominations were announced on 15 January 2020. Owners received highest number of nominations. The Painted Bird then won in 9 categories including the Best film.

2020 Czech Lion Awards ceremony will be held in March 2021. Awards underwent changes as new Categories were added. Animated film and Web works will be newly Awarded in their respective Categories. Some categories became open for Television and Web works as a result of increase in Television work quality.

Even Mice Belong in Heaven is a 2021 coproduction animated film directed by Jan Bubeníček and Denisa Grimmová. It received two Czech Lion Awards - for Best animated film and for Best music. It also on Czech Film Critics' Award for Best audiovisual creation. The film was presented at Shanghai International Film Festival where it received award for the Best animated film. It is the most expensive Czech animated film.
