The 2021 Montreal Alouettes season was the 54th season for the team in the Canadian Football League and their 66th overall. The Alouettes qualified for the playoffs on November 5, 2021, after the Hamilton Tiger-Cats defeated the BC Lions in week 14. [1] The team's season was ended by the same Tiger-Cats following a 23–12 East Semi-Final loss in Hamilton. [2]
The 2021 CFL season was the second season for Khari Jones as the Alouettes' head coach and offensive coordinator as he had the "interim" tag removed after he agreed to a three-year extension on November 26, 2019. [3] This was his first full season as the team's head coach. [4] This was also the first season with Danny Maciocia as the team's general manager. [5]
An 18-game season schedule was originally released on November 20, 2020, but it was announced on April 21, 2021 that the start of the season would likely be delayed until August and feature a 14-game schedule. [6] [7] On June 15, 2021, the league released the revised 14-game schedule with regular season play beginning on August 5, 2021. [8]
The 2021 CFL Global Draft took place on April 15, 2021. [9] [10] With the format being a snake draft, the Alouettes selected sixth in the odd-numbered rounds and fourth in the even-numbered rounds. [9]

The 2021 CFL Draft took place on May 4, 2021. [11] [12] The Alouettes had five selections in the six-round draft after the team traded their first-round pick to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the trade for Johnny Manziel. [13] The team had the ninth pick in odd rounds and the first pick in even rounds. [14]

The Alouettes initially had a schedule that featured 18 regular season games beginning on June 11 and ending on October 30. [6] However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Canada, the Canadian Football League delayed the start of the regular season to August 5, 2021 and the Alouettes began their 14-game season on August 14, 2021. [8]

Danny Maciocia is the general manager of the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He was previously head coach of the Université de Montréal Carabins football team. He is also the former general manager and director of football operations of the CFL's Edmonton Eskimos and former offensive coordinator with the André-Grasset Phénix, a CEGEP team in Montreal.
Khari Okang Jones is a former professional Canadian football player and was most recently the offensive coordinator and assistant head coach for the Ottawa Redblacks of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He was formerly the head coach for the Montreal Alouettes. He is also a former television sports reporter for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC). Jones played quarterback in the CFL, where he enjoyed his most success with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Jones also played briefly for the Arena Football League's Albany Firebirds and the World League of American Football's Scottish Claymores. He has also been the offensive coordinator for the BC Lions and Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
The 2014 CFL season was the 61st season of modern-day Canadian football. It was the 57th Canadian Football League season. Vancouver hosted the 102nd Grey Cup on November 30. The league expanded to nine teams with the addition of the Ottawa Redblacks, giving the CFL nine teams for the first time since the 2005 season. Stephen Dane Evans is an American former professional football quarterback who played for six seasons in the Canadian Football League (CFL). He was a member of the Philadelphia Eagles, Hamilton Tiger-Cats, and BC Lions. He played college football at Tulsa.
The 2019 CFL season was the 66th season of modern-day Canadian football. Officially, it was the 62nd Canadian Football League season. The regular season began on June 13 and concluded with the playing of the 107th Grey Cup in Calgary on November 24 —where the Winnipeg Blue Bombers defeated the Hamilton Tiger-Cats 33–12 to win their first Grey Cup since 1990.

Antonio Pipkin is an American professional Canadian football quarterback for the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played college football at Tiffin. Pipkin has also been a member of the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League (NFL), and the Montreal Alouettes, Edmonton Football Team, Toronto Argonauts, BC Lions, and Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the CFL.

The Argonauts then clinched first place in the East Division after defeating the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on November 12, 2021. However, the Argonauts lost to the same Tiger-Cats in the East Final after holding a 12–0 halftime lead, but were unable to score a touchdown and lost 27–19.
