The 2022 Women's European Water Polo Championship was the 19th running of the tournament. It was held in the Spaladium Arena in Split, Croatia from 27 August to 10 September 2022. [1]
Spain won their third title by defeating Greece in the final, while Italy captured the bronze medal with a win over the Netherlands. [2]
LEN announced on 28 August 2020 that Split, Croatia would host the 2022 edition of the competition. All games were played at the Spaladium Arena. [1]

Russia was excluded due to the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. [5]
The twelve teams were split in two groups with six teams each. From there on, a knockout system was used. The first four teams of each group played each other in the quarterfinals in cross group format, the remaining teams played for places nine to twelve. [6]

The European Water Polo Championship is a sport competition for national water polo teams, currently held biannually and organized by the Ligue Européenne de Natation (LEN), the governing European aquatics federation. There are both men's and women's competitions.
Dénes Andor Varga is a Hungarian professional water polo player, currently playing for Ferencváros.
Daniel López Pinedo is a Spanish water polo goalkeeper who competed for the Spain men's national water polo team in two Summer Olympics (2012 London and 2016 Rio. He helped Spanish water polo club CN Atlètic-Barceloneta win the LEN Champions League in 2013–14 season. He is 6 ft 3 inches tall.
Viktor Nagy is a Hungarian water polo goalkeeper. He took up the sport at the age of 10 at the Szolnoki Dózsa in Budapest, and made his first appearance for the Hungarian national team in 2006. He won the world title in 2013 and competed at the 2012, 2016 and 2020 Summer Olympics

The 2021–22 Women's LEN Trophy is the 23rd edition of the European second-tier tournament for women's water polo clubs. It was a two-legged final that was played in Dunaújváros, Hungary, and Piraeus, Greece on 25 and 30 March 2022. Ethnikos won its second LEN Trophy to become the Greek team with the most titles regarding this competition.
The men's water polo tournament at the 2022 World Aquatics Championships was held from 21 June to 3 July 2022 in Budapest, Hungary. This was the 19th time that the men's water polo tournament has been played since the first edition in 1973.
The women's water polo tournament at the 2022 World Aquatics Championships is held from 20 June to 2 July 2022. This is the 15th time that the women's water polo tournament has been played since the first edition in 1986.
Italy competed at the 2022 World Aquatics Championships in Budapest, Hungary from 18 June to 3 July. Having clinched the final in men's water polo, for the first time it has won at least one medal in every discipline.
The 2024 Men's European Water Polo Championship is the upcoming 36th edition of this tournament. It will be held in Dubrovnik and Zagreb, Croatia from 4 to 16 January 2024. Originally, Israel had been selected as host and the competition was slated to be held in Netanya, from 3 to 16 January 2024. Due to security concerns after the breakout of the 2023 Israel–Hamas war, LEN announced the Championship would be hosted elsewhere.
The 2024 Women's European Water Polo Championship will be the 20th running of the tournament. It will be held in Eindhoven, Netherlands from 5 to 13 January 2024. It was scheduled to be held in Netanya, Israel, But the competition was taken away from Israel for security reasons after the 2023 Israel–Hamas war commenced. This edition will be the first one to be played by 16 teams.
