<span class="mw-page-title-main">Noor Jehan</span> Pakistani singer and actress

Noor Jehan, also known by her honorific title Malika-e-Tarannum, was a Pakistani playback singer and actress who worked first in British India and then in the cinema of Pakistan. Her career spanned more than six decades. Considered to be one of the greatest and most influential singers in Indian subcontinent, she was given the honorific title of Malika-e-Tarannum in Pakistan. She had a command of Hindustani classical music as well as other music genres.

Krishnan Nair Shantakumari Chithra is an Indian playback singer and Carnatic musician. In a career spanning over four decades, she has recorded over 30,000 songs in various Indian languages, as well as foreign languages such as Malay, Latin, Arabic, Sinhalese, English and French. She is also known for her extensive history of collaboration with music composers like A. R. Rahman, Ilaiyaraja, Hamsalekha, M. M. Keeravani and with the playback singers K. J. Yesudas and S. P. Balasubrahmanyam over the years. She is cited as the Golden Voice of India by world's Prestigious Royal Albert Hall, London in 2001 and Melody Queen of Indian Cinema by Radio Mirchi, The Times Group in 2016. She is honoured with the title First Ladies by the President of India in 2018 for being the first Indian woman to be honoured by British Parliament at House of Commons, United Kingdom in 2003. People of India fondly called her as Little Nightingale of Indian Cinema.

Shantanu Mukherjee, better known as Shaan, is an Indian playback singer, live performer, composer, actor and television host. He has recorded numerous songs for films and albums in various Indian languages and has established himself as one of the best and highest paid playback singers of Indian Cinema.

Sandeep Singh Sidhu, also known as Deep Sidhu, was an Indian film actor and Sikh separatist leader. He worked in Punjabi films, starting his acting career with the film Ramta Jogi produced by Dharmendra under his banner Vijayta Films.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Sidhu Moose Wala</span> Indian rapper and singer (1993–2022)

Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, known professionally as Sidhu Moose Wala, was an Indian rapper and singer. He worked predominantly in Punjabi-language music and cinema. Moose Wala was generally regarded to have been one of the greatest Punjabi artists of his generation and to many, amongst the greatest and most controversial Punjabi artists of all time. Moreover, he was considered a key figure in opening the door to mainstream music for Punjabi artists. He was shot and killed by unidentified assailants in May 2022.

Jaskaran SinghAujla, known professionally as Karan Aujla, is an Indian singer, rapper and songwriter based in Canada who is primarily associated with Punjabi music. He is known for his numerous tracks which have charted on the UK Asian chart published by the Official Charts Company, while seven have charted on the Global YouTube music chart. His debut album Bacthafucup peaked at number 20 on Billboard Canadian Albums chart and 34th on the New Zealand albums chart, earning him the title of the Largest Digital Artist 2021 on Spotify and had been listed in their Most Popular Artists in Punjabi Music Industry.

Sidhu Moose Wala was an Indian Punjabi singer, rapper, songwriter and actor associated with Punjabi music and films, who has released three studio albums, one extended play and sixty-seven singles as Albums Chart. Six of his singles have featured on the global YouTube music charts, while ten have featured on the UK Asian music chart published by Official Charts Company.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Afsana Khan</span> Indian singer/songwriter

Afsana Khan is an Indian Punjabi playback singer, actress and songwriter. She started her career as a participant in the singing reality show, Voice of Punjab Season 3 in 2012. She is known for her tracks "Titliaan" written by Jaani and "Dhakka" with Sidhu Moose Wala. In 2021, she participated in the reality show Bigg Boss 15.

<i>Moosetape</i> 2021 studio album by Sidhu Moose Wala

Moosetape is the third and final studio album by Indian singer, rapper and songwriter Sidhu Moose Wala, released independently on 15 May 2021. Moose Wala served as the executive producer. Writing was handled by Sidhu dominantly among other artists, while the tracks were produced by The Kidd, Steel Banglez, Snappy, Wazir Patar, and JB. At 32 tracks, it is Moose Wala's longest album, and is also the last to be released before his death on May 29, 2022. It features guest vocals from Bohemia, Tion Wayne, Stefflon Don, Morrisson, Divine, Raja Kumari, Blockboi Twitch and Sikander Kahlon. The album also features uncredited guest appearances from Randiala Wala and Sonam Bajwa.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">SYL (song)</span> 2022 single by Sidhu Moose Wala

"SYL" is a single by Punjabi singer-rapper Sidhu Moosewala. The song was released just under three weeks after his death on 29 May 2022. The song was produced by Mxrci, and written by Moose Wala.

Balwinder Safri was a United Kingdom–based Punjabi folk singer active since 1980s and founder of Safri Boyz Band (1990). He was best known as Bhangra Star for his contribution to Punjabi music industry. A few of his hit songs include "O Chan Mere Makhna", "Pao Bhangra", "Gal Sun Kuriye", "Nachdi nu", 'Rab Dian Rakhan" (1996), "Ishq Nachavye Gali Gali" (1996) and "Laali" (1998). Safri underwent triple bypass surgery and suffered brain damage while at New Cross Hospital. He died on 26 July 2022 in Wolverhampton, UK, shortly after being discharged from the hospital.

Sandeep Singh Sidhu, known as Sunny Malton, is a Punjabi Canadian rapper and singer. He rose to mainstream with his track 'Issa Jatt' with Sidhu Moose Wala. His song Levels with Sidhu charted at 32 on Canadian Hot 100.
