Noor Jehan, also known by her honorific title Malika-e-Tarannum, was a Pakistani playback singer and actress who worked first in British India and then in the cinema of Pakistan. Her career spanned more than six decades. Considered to be one of the greatest and most influential singers in Indian subcontinent, she was given the honorific title of Malika-e-Tarannum in Pakistan. She had a command of Hindustani classical music as well as other music genres.
Krishnan Nair Shantakumari Chithra is an Indian playback singer and Carnatic musician. In a career spanning over four decades, she has recorded over 30,000 songs in various Indian languages, as well as foreign languages such as Malay, Latin, Arabic, Sinhalese, English and French. She is cited as the Golden Voice of India by world's Prestigious Royal Albert Hall, London in 2001 and Melody Queen of Indian Cinema by Radio Mirchi, The Times Group in 2016. She is honoured with the title First Ladies by the President of India in 2018 for being the first Indian woman to be honoured by British Parliament at House of Commons, United Kingdom in 2003. People of India fondly called her as Little Nightingale of Indian Cinema.

Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, known professionally as Sidhu Moose Wala, was an Indian rapper and singer. He worked predominantly in Punjabi-language music and cinema. Moose Wala was generally regarded to have been one of the greatest Punjabi artists of his generation and to many, amongst the greatest and most controversial Punjabi artists of all time. Moreover, he was considered a key figure in opening the door to mainstream music for Punjabi artists. He was shot and killed by unidentified assailants in May 2022.

Moosetape is the third and final studio album by Indian singer, rapper and songwriter Sidhu Moose Wala, released independently on 15 May 2021. Moose Wala served as the executive producer. Writing was handled by Sidhu dominantly among other artists, while the tracks were produced by The Kidd, Steel Banglez, Snappy, Wazir Patar, and JB. At 32 tracks, it is Moose Wala's longest album, and is also the last to be released before his death on May 29, 2022. It features guest vocals from Bohemia, Tion Wayne, Stefflon Don, Morrisson, Divine, Raja Kumari, Blockboi Twitch and Sikander Kahlon. The album also features uncredited guest appearances from Randiala Wala and Sonam Bajwa.

Balwinder Safri was a United Kingdom–based Punjabi folk singer active since 1980s and founder of Safri Boyz Band (1990). He was best known as Bhangra Star for his contribution to Punjabi music industry. A few of his hit songs include "O Chan Mere Makhna", "Pao Bhangra", "Gal Sun Kuriye", "Nachdi nu", 'Rab Dian Rakhan" (1996), "Ishq Nachavye Gali Gali" (1996) and "Laali" (1998). Safri underwent triple bypass surgery and suffered brain damage while at New Cross Hospital. He died on 26 July 2022 in Wolverhampton, UK, shortly after being discharged from the hospital.
