Kulilay Amit, Han Chinese name Chang Hui-mei, better known by her stage name A-Mei, is a Taiwanese singer and record producer of Puyuma descent. A leading figure of the Mandopop music scene since the mid-1990s, A-Mei is widely known for breaking ground for Taiwanese indigenous peoples and being a voice for LGBT rights and gender equality. Tanya Chua is a Singaporean singer-songwriter. She launched her singing career by releasing her debut studio album Bored in 1997. She was part of the trio that sang Moments of Magic (1999), Singapore's official millennium song. Her albums, Amphibian (2005), Goodbye & Hello (2007), Sing It Out of Love (2011) and Depart (2021), each won her a Golden Melody Award for Best Mandarin Female Singer award.

The Golden Melody Award for Best Male Mandarin Singer is an award given by the Ministry of Culture of Taiwan. It was first presented in 1990 as Best Male Singer.

The Golden Melody Award for Best Mandarin Album is an honor presented at the Golden Melody Awards, a ceremony that was established in 1990, to recording artists for quality Mandopop music albums.

The Golden Melody Award for Song of the Year is presented by the Ministry of Culture of Taiwan to honor outstanding vocal recording tracks in the pop music genre. The Song of the Year award is one of the most prestigious categories at the awards presented annually since the 1st Golden Melody Awards in 1990. The award was presented for additional years until being discontinued in 1997, and was then revived in 2006. It is awarded to a single or for a track from an album, and goes to the performing artist for that song.

The Golden Melody Award for Album of the Year is presented by the Ministry of Culture of Taiwan to honor quality vocal or instrumental recording albums in the pop music genre. The honor was first presented in the 2nd Golden Melody Awards. The award was discontinued in 2005 and was separated into Best Mandarin Album, Best Taiwanese Album, Best Hakka Album, and Best Aboriginal Album. In 2017, the award was revived and albums in different languages are eligible for this award. Particular awards for Best Mandarin Album, Best Taiwanese Album, Best Hakka Album, and Best Aboriginal Album remained.

The Golden Melody Award for Best New Artist is an award given by the Ministry of Culture of Taiwan. It was first presented in 1990 as New Artist Award.

The Golden Melody Award for Best Band is an award given by the Ministry of Culture of Taiwan. It was first presented in 2001. Mayday which is a band got the award before.

Eve Ai Yi-liang is a Taiwanese singer-songwriter. She was crowned the winner of Super Idol 5 in 2010.

Fire Ex. is a punk rock band from Kaohsiung, Taiwan, founded in 2000, which sings in both Taiwanese Hokkien and Mandarin Chinese. The group consists of Sam (vocals), Orio (guitar), Pipi (bass), and KG (drums). The band is known for their social activism supporting Taiwanese independence and same-sex marriage.
