The 2023 Idemitsu FIM Asia Road Racing Championship is the 28th season of the Asia Road Racing Championship. The season started on 24 March at Chang International Circuit in Thailand and ended on 3 December at Chang International Circuit. [1]
Japanese motorcycle racer Haruki Noguchi was killed in the second ASB1000 race at Mandalika International Street Circuit when another racer crashed into him. [2]

Grand Prix motorcycle racing is the highest class of motorcycle road racing events held on road circuits sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM). Independent motorcycle racing events have been held since the start of the twentieth century and large national events were often given the title Grand Prix. The foundation of the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme as the international governing body for motorcycle sport in 1949 provided the opportunity to coordinate rules and regulations in order that selected events could count towards official World Championships. It is the oldest established motorsport world championship.
Kenneth Leroy Roberts is an American former professional motorcycle racer and racing team owner. In 1978, he became the first American to win a Grand Prix motorcycle racing world championship. He was also a two-time winner of the A.M.A. Grand National Championship. Roberts is one of only four riders in American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) racing history to win the AMA Grand Slam, representing Grand National wins at a mile, half-mile, short-track, TT Steeplechase and road race events.
Eddie Ray Lawson is an American former professional motorcycle racer. He competed in the Grand Prix motorcycle racing world championships from 1983 to 1992.
Shahrol Yuzy Ahmad Zaini is a motorcycle Grand Prix rider from Malaysia. After his retirement from motorcycle racing at the end of 2002, he served as a full-time mentor of Team Petronas Sprinta Racing for the Malaysian Cub Prix from 2003 to 2007 before moving to Team Modenas Yuzy Pachi in 2008 as team principal. He is still run as team principal for Yuzy Honda Racing, actively race in both Malaysian Cub Prix and Asia Road Racing Championship. His son, Syahrol Syazras is also a motorcycle racer which he is racing with his father's team in both Malaysian Cub Prix and Asia Road Racing Championship.
Shankar Sarath Kumar is a professional motorcycle road racer and a multiple Indian national champion. He became the first Indian to take part in the FIM Motorcycle World Championship competing in the 125cc class in the 2011 MotoGP at the Portugal Grand Prix. He took part in only three rounds. His efforts to re-enter Moto3 for the 2014 season failed due to lack of sponsors.

In 2009 he qualified as one among 18 racers, selected from a lot of 62 riders, Race - 42. He rode the KTM RC 8 R 1190 cc version of the LC8 bike. He is also a hardware, software and multimedia professional.

Mandalika International Street Circuit is a motorcycle racing track located in the Mandalika resort area on Lombok island, part of the West Nusa Tenggara province of Indonesia. The circuit opened by hosting rounds of the Asia Talent Cup and Superbike World Championship in late 2021, followed by Grand Prix motorcycle races in 2022.
The 2022 Indonesian motorcycle Grand Prix was the second round of the 2022 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season. It was held at the Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit in Central Lombok on 20 March 2022.
Haruki Noguchi was a Japanese motorcycle racer riding for SDG Honda Racing. Noguchi was a member of MuSASHi RT HARC-PRO. He competed in the All Japan Road Race Championship in 2017 and 2018, placing second in the Asia Talent Cup standings, and in 2019, placing third in the Red Bull Rookies Cup standings. He died at age 22 after suffering fatal injuries during a road race in Indonesia.
The 2024 Idemitsu FIM Asia Road Racing Championship is the 29th season of the Asia Road Racing Championship. The season started on 15 March at Chang International Circuit in Thailand and will end on 8 December back at Chang International Circuit.
