The 2001 Nokia Brier, Canada's national men's curling championship, was held March 3–11 at the Ottawa Civic Centre in Ottawa, Ontario. It was the very first Brier to be sponsored by Nokia. The theme of the event was the 2001: A Space Odyssey. In the finals, Team Alberta, consisting of skip Randy Ferbey, fourth David Nedohin, second Scott Pfeifer and lead Marcel Rocque would capture their first of four Brier wins as a team. They edged out Team Manitoba skipped by Kerry Burtnyk in the final, 8–4. While the Brier was not unsuccessful, it did end up losing money. The total attendance was 154,136.
The 2010 Tim Hortons Brier, the Canadian men's national curling championship, was held between March 6 until March 14, 2010 in Halifax, Nova Scotia at the Halifax Metro Centre. It marked the sixth time the Brier had been to Halifax, and the second time in eight years, having previously hosted the 2003 Nokia Brier.

The winning Brad Gushue rink was scheduled to represent Canada at the 2020 World Men's Curling Championship at the Commonwealth Arena in Glasgow, Scotland.

The winning Mary-Anne Arsenault rink represented Nova Scotia at the 2020 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and finished with a 4–4 record. The event was held in conjunction with the 2020 Deloitte Tankard, the provincial men's curling championship.

The 2023 Ontario Scotties Tournament of Hearts, the provincial women's curling championship for Southern Ontario, was held from January 23 to 29 at The Plex in Port Elgin, Ontario. The winning Rachel Homan rink represented Ontario at the 2023 Scotties Tournament of Hearts, Canada's national women's curling championship in Kamloops, British Columbia where they made the Championship round losing to Nova Scotia 7–6 in an extra end.

The event was held in conjunction with the 2023 Nova Scotia Tankard, the men's provincial championship. The winning Christina Black rink represented Nova Scotia at the 2023 Scotties Tournament of Hearts, Canada's national women's curling championship in Kamloops, British Columbia where they finished fourth overall losing to eventual champion Team Canada 9–4 in the 3 vs. 4 page playoff.

The winning team will represent Canada at the 2024 World Men's Curling Championship at the KSS Sports Complex in Schaffhausen, Switzerland.
