The 2023 PEI Tankard , the provincial men's curling championship for Prince Edward Island, was held from January 25 to 29 at the Crapaud Community Curling Club in Crapaud, Prince Edward Island. The event was held in conjunction with the 2023 Prince Edward Island Scotties Tournament of Hearts, the provincial women's championship. [1]

Contents

The winning Tyler Smith rink represented Prince Edward Island at the 2023 Tim Hortons Brier in London, Ontario where they finished eighth in Pool B with a 2–6 record.

This is the first time since 2021 that the event will be held due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Canada.

The 2001 Nokia Brier, Canada's national men's curling championship, was held March 3–11 at the Ottawa Civic Centre in Ottawa, Ontario. It was the very first Brier to be sponsored by Nokia. The theme of the event was the 2001: A Space Odyssey. In the finals, Team Alberta, consisting of skip Randy Ferbey, fourth David Nedohin, second Scott Pfeifer and lead Marcel Rocque would capture their first of four Brier wins as a team. They edged out Team Manitoba skipped by Kerry Burtnyk in the final, 8–4. While the Brier was not unsuccessful, it did end up losing money. The total attendance was 154,136.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2010 Tim Hortons Brier</span> 2010 edition of the Canadian mens national curling championship

The 2010 Tim Hortons Brier, the Canadian men's national curling championship, was held between March 6 until March 14, 2010 in Halifax, Nova Scotia at the Halifax Metro Centre. It marked the sixth time the Brier had been to Halifax, and the second time in eight years, having previously hosted the 2003 Nokia Brier.

The 2007 PEI Labatt Tankard, the men's curling provincial championships for Prince Edward Island, was held during late January and early February. The open playdowns were held at the Crapaud Community Curling Club from January 26–29, while the final eight playdowns were held at the Cornwall Curling Club from February 6–11. The winner of the Tankard was Peter Gallant, who won his first Tankard as a skip. He and his rink represented PEI at the 2007 Tim Hortons Brier in Hamilton, Ontario, where they finished tied for eighth place at 4–7.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2012 Players' Championship</span> Grand Slam of Curling event

The 2012 Sun Life Financial Players' Championship was held from April 17 to 22 at the Consolidated Credit Union Place in Summerside, Prince Edward Island. It was the last Grand Slam event of the 2011–12 curling season and the twentieth time the tournament has been held. The purse is CAD$100,000 for both the men's and women's tournaments, and the winner of each tournament will receive CAD$18,000.

The 2013 Prince Edward Island Scotties Tournament of Hearts, Prince Edward Island's women's provincial curling championship, was held from January 24 to 27 at the Charlottetown Curling Club in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. The winning team will represent Prince Edward Island at the 2013 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Kingston, Ontario.

The 2015 PEI Tankard, the provincial men's curling championship of Prince Edward Island, was held from February 6 to 10 at the Western Community Curling Club in Alberton, Prince Edward Island. The winning Adam Casey team represented Prince Edward Island at the 2015 Tim Hortons Brier in Calgary.

The 2020 PEI Scotties Tournament of Hearts Women's Championship, the women's provincial curling championship for Prince Edward Island, was held from January 8 to 12 at the Montague Curling Rink in Montague, Prince Edward Island. The winning Suzanne Birt rink represented Prince Edward Island at the 2020 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and finished with a 5–6 record. The event was held in conjunction with the 2020 PEI Tankard, the provincial men's championship.

The 1964 Macdonald Brier, the Canadian men's national curling championship, was held from March 4 to 8, 1964 at the Charlottetown Forum in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. A total of 13,573 fans attended the event, which was the smallest attended Brier since 1952. As of 2023 this is the only time that PEI has hosted a Brier.

The winning Rachel Homan rink represented Ontario at the 2023 Scotties Tournament of Hearts, Canada's national women's curling championship in Kamloops, British Columbia where they made the Championship round losing to Nova Scotia 7–6 in an extra end.

The 2023 Hardline Quebec Tankard, the Quebec men's provincial curling championship, was held from January 10 to 15 at the Centre Sportif Mistouk d'Alma in Alma, Quebec.
