The 2024 Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards was held on 11 May 2024, at Eko Hotels and Suites, Lagos State. [1] The nominees were revealed on 24 March 2024, [1] and the most nominations went to Over the Bridge with 12 nominations including Best Supporting Actor and Actress, Best Lead Actress, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Sound Design, Best Art Direction, Best Make Up, Best Costume Design, Best Writing in a Movie, Best Director and Best Movie. [2] This was followed by Mami Wata with 11 nominations and Breath of Life and Jagun Jagun with 10 nominations each. [2]

Akindele reprised the role in a 2015 television series adaption titled Jenifa's Diary, for which she was named the Best Actress in a Comedy at the 2016 and 2017 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards. Akindele won the same award in 2020 and 2022, making it her fifth win for the Best Actress in a Comedy category. Akindele is the most nominated actress/filmmaker at the AMVCA and currently owns six wins which makes her the actress with most wins. She is the second director to gross over a billion naira at the Nigeria box office and currently the Highest grossing Nigerian Director in Nigerian Box Office with a total Gross of over ₦2.9 billion.

Ivie Okujaye Egboh is a Nigerian actress, film producer, scriptwriter, dancer, singer and activist. In 2009, she participated in and won the Amstel Malta Box Office (AMBO) reality TV show. She is sometimes called little Genevieve because she resembles actress Genevieve Nnaji. She was awarded Best Young Actor at the 8th Africa Movie Academy Awards.

The 2023 Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards was held between 18 and 20 May 2023. The event included a series of pre-show activities with the actual award show held on 20 May 2023.

Jagun Jagun (The Warrior) is a 2023 Netflix original epic Yoruba film produced by Femi Adebayo Salami and Euphoria360 Media. It was directed by Adebayo Tijani and Tope Adebayo Salami. The film stars Femi Adebayo, Adedimeji Lateef, Bimbo Ademoye, Faithia Balogun, Mr Macaroni, Bukunmi Oluwasina, Ibrahim Yekini and Muyiwa Ademola. It was released on Netflix streaming platform on 10 August 2023. It won the Best Indigenous Language Movie (West Africa), and the Best Costume Design award category at the 2024 Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards.

The Passenger is a 2023 Ugandan film directed by Hadijah Nakanjako and written by Meddy Sserwadda. The film stars Henry Nathan Katongole, Allen Musumba and Olot Bonny Elem in leading roles. Usama Mukwaya serves as the executive producer through O Studios Entertainment.

Ola Cardoso also known as Mr. C is a Nigerian cinematographer, creative director and music video director best known for his works on the films, God Calling, Banana Island Ghost and Breathe of Life, which won the AMVCA 2024 for Best Movie. He is also the founder of Cardoso Imagery, a cinematography and production company in Nigeria.

Hadijah Nakanjako Ssali is a Ugandan actress, film director and producer. She is best known for the Debut film The Passenger that won best indigenous film as the Uganda Film Festival Awards(UFF). The film also received two nominations at Amvca Awards.
