The 2024 U23 World Wrestling Championships was the seventh edition of the U23 World Wrestling Championships of combined events and was held from 21 to 27 October 2024 in Tirana, Albania. [1] [2] [3]

The inaugural 2020 Individual World Wrestling Cup was held in Belgrade, Serbia from 12–18 December 2020. It was a replacement event for the 2020 World Championships, which should have taken place in the same location, but since some criteria were not fulfilled, such as not less than 8 top nations from the previous championships to participate, the event is not counted as world championships. The Cup took place amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, which caused this and other problems. The United States for instance chose not to participate.

The 2023 U23 World Wrestling Championships was the sixth edition of the U23 World Wrestling Championships of combined events and was held from 23 to 29 October 2023 in Tirana, Albania. United World Wrestling (UWW) authorized some Russian wrestlers to participate in the World Championships though they had participated in the pro-war rally and expressed their support for the Russo-Ukrainian war. UWW explained its decision to clear them for the World Championships by stating that their participation in certain events was not of their own will and their support for the war and the policy of their government could not be certainly concluded. After Albania was specified as the host, the Albanian government announced that the Iranian wrestling team will not receive visas due to the IRGC's cyber attacks on the Albanian government and Iran-Albania relations.

The 2024 European U23 Wrestling Championships is the 9th edition of the European U23 Wrestling Championships of combined events, and it will take place from 20 to 26 May in Baku, Azerbaijan. The championships, to welcome 365 athletes from 31 countries, held at the Baku Sports Palace.

The 2024 World Wrestling Championships was held from 28 to 31 October 2024 in Tirana, Albania. Athletes who participated in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games would not be allowed to compete.
