The A1 (also known as Guangzhou Metro Line 1 Trains) is a rolling stock built by the Adtranz and Siemens Mobility from 1996 to 1997 for the Line 1, with operation in Guangzhou Metro. [1] They are refurbished from 2021 to 2024 by CRRC Guangzhou Rail Transit Equipment in Dazhou Depot.
Since 29 December 2002, A1 trains were assigned for service of Line 2 until the A2 trains delivered, which in turn were replaced with A4 trains.
On 16 November 1993, the Siemens Mobility awarded the contract to build the rolling stock for the Line 1 of Guangzhou Metro. The first train was delivered on 9 April 1997, entering service on 28 June 1997, with the final train delivered on 15 March 1999. [5]
The design of the A1 is identical to the AC01 and AC02, which are in operation in Shanghai Metro. A1 trains have livery in yellow and red. The train length is about 140m, with car height is 3.8m and width is 3m. The Tcp cars (Trailer car with cab and pantograph) have halogen headlights and every car have five-color indicators originally. [6]

In 2008, A1 trains underwent an overhaul. Set 1x01-02 was the first to be overhauled and backed to service. [7] [8] This set's doors were also converted to electric doors.
The entire fleet was refurbished within a period of three years between 2021 and 2024. [9] The first refurbished train put into service on 30 May 2022. [10]
Line 1 of the Guangzhou Metro runs from Xilang to Guangzhou East Railway Station. Apart from Kengkou and Xilang, all stations in Line 1 are underground. The first section, from Xilang to Huangsha, opened on 28 June 1997, making Guangzhou the fourth city in mainland China to have a metro system. Construction took a total of 66 months. The total investment is 12.2616 billion yuan with an average cost per kilometer of 662.9 million yuan. The full line started operation on 28 June 1999. Line 1 is coloured yellow.
Line 3 of the Guangzhou Metro is a 74.83-kilometer (46.50 mi) rapid transit line connects Haibang to Airport North. The entire line, including all track and stations, is located in tunnels. Its 67.33 km (41.84 mi) main branch, excluding the 7.5 km (4.66 mi) branch between Tianhe Coach Terminal and Tiyu Xilu, is now the third longest continuous subway tunnel in the world, and the longest rail tunnel of any kind.
Line 5 of the Guangzhou Metro runs from Liwan District to Huangpu District. It starts at Jiaokou running 41.7 km (25.91 mi) in a wide "∩" shape and ends at Huangpu New Port. Like lines 4 and 6, it is equipped with linear induction motor technology. Line 5's color is red. Line 5 began operation on 28 December 2009, from Jiaokou to Wenchong. On December 31, 2009, Line 5 set a record of 567,000 daily passengers, surpassing the ten year ridership projections in the span of just 4 days after its opening. As of May 2017, Line 5 carries an average of 1.05 million passengers per day and is extremely congested throughout the day, operating at over 100% capacity during rush hours. The opening of Phase I of Line 13 further increased traffic demand on the west end of Line 5 and pushing congestion to over 130% capacity. Prompting the Guangzhou Metro to limit passenger traffic at a number of subway stations on Line 5. In 2018, the busiest section of Line 5 reaches over 50,000 pphpd of traffic volume during peak periods. By 2019, the line was used by 1.18 million passengers each day. In the future Line 13 Phase II will provide relief for Line 5. On 28 December 2023, the line was extended to the east from Wenchong to Huangpu New Port.
All Beijing Subway trains run on 1,435 mmstandard gauge rail and draw power from the 750 V DC third rail, except those on Lines 6, 11 14, 16, 17 and 19, which use 1,500 V DC overhead wires. Lines 6, 15, Fangshan, and Changping lines have a designed maximum service speed of 100 km/h (62 mph). The Airport Line is linear motor driven with a designed maximum service speed of 110 km/h (68 mph) All other Lines have a maximum service speed of 80 km/h (50 mph). Currently, Lines 1, 2, 4, 5, 8, 9, 10, 13, 15, Batong, Daxing, Changping, Fangshan, Yanfang, and Yizhuang lines use 6 car B size trains. Initially, the Batong line and Line 13 was originally used 4 car trains and now expanded into six.
Line 6 of the Guangzhou Metro runs from Liwan District to Huangpu District. It starts at Xunfenggang and ends at Xiangxue, interchanging with Line 5 at Tanwei and Ouzhuang; Line 1 at Huangsha and Dongshankou; Line 8 at Cultural Park; Line 2 at Haizhu Square; Line 21 at Suyuan; Line 3 at Yantang and Tianhe Coach Terminal. The total length is 41.9 km (26.04 mi) with 32 stations. Line 6 serves densely populated areas including residential communities in Jinshazhou, the pedestrian street in Beijing Lu and wholesale markets in Shahe. Nevertheless, Line 6, which runs four-car trains, has long had a questionable train capacity. The phase one section between Xunfenggang and Changban began to provide service from 28 December 2013 with the exception of Yide Lu and Shahe stations. Yide Lu opened over a year later on 28 January 2015. The second phase of Line 6 from Changban to Xiangxue has been in operation since 28 December 2016. Like Lines 4 and 5, Line 6 is equipped with linear induction motor technology. Line 6's color is maroon.
Line 7 of the Guangzhou Metro is a rapid transit line in Guangzhou and Foshan, Guangdong Province, China. It is envisioned as tangential line that runs across southeast Guangzhou and Foshan, allowing for orbital traffic between the suburbs of Shunde, Panyu and Huangpu to avoid the crowded stations in the city center. Line 7's color is ■ light green.
The Pearl River Delta Metropolitan Region Intercity Railway System is a regional higher-speed rail and suburban rail network being gradually constructed in the Pearl River Delta, People's Republic of China. The project's goal is to have every major urban center in the Greater Bay Area to be within one-hour travel by rail to Guangzhou. On March 16, 2005, the State Council approved plans for a regional high-speed commuter rail network for the Jingjinji, Yangtze River Delta and the Pearl River Delta. According to the plan, by 2020, the network will have a total route mileage of about 600 kilometres (370 mi). In September 2009, the plan was expanded to 1,478 km (918 mi) of routes split up into 23 lines. In the long term vision network length will reach 1,890 km (1,170 mi) by 2030. By then the network will provide basic coverage to the Pearl River Delta region. The Suishen ICR, Guanhui ICR and Guangfozhao ICR accept Alipay, avoiding the need to purchase tickets in advance.
Guangzhou–Zhaoqing intercity railway, also known as Guangzhao intercity railway or Foshan–Zhaoqing intercity railway, is a regional railway within Guangdong province, China. It connects between Foshan and Zhaoqing, with through trains to Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province. It is a part of the Pearl River Delta Metropolitan Region intercity railway network. It commenced operations on March 30, 2016.
Line 5 of the Chengdu Metro is a rapid transit line in Chengdu. It starts at Huagui Road and ends at Huilong. The total length is 49.018 km (30.5 mi).
Line 17 of the Chengdu Metro is a metro line in Chengdu. The whole line will be 30.286 km when Phase 2 opens. The line uses 8-car Type-A trains operating up to 140 km/h speed powered by 25kV AC overhead lines.
Line 24 of Guangzhou Metro is an under construction rapid transit line in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, China. The whole line runs roughly from north to south, connecting Huadu District, Baiyun District, Yuexiu District and Haizhu District, and connects two railway hubs, Guangzhou North railway station and Guangzhou Baiyun railway station. Line 24 will use 6-car Type A trains similar to Line 8.
Line 12 of the Guangzhou Metro is a fully automated rapid transit line under construction in Guangzhou, China. It was originally planned to open for operation in 2023, but due to the obstruction of the construction progress, it was announced in 2022 that it was expected to be completed in 2024, and the opening has since been delayed into 2025.
Shuixi station, is an interchange station between Line 7 and Line 21 of the Guangzhou Metro. Line 21 opened on 20 December 2019., whilst Line 7 opened on 28 December 2023.

The 01A01 and the 01A02 train are current rolling stocks used on the Line 1 of Shanghai Metro. They are built by Adtranz and Siemens Mobility, with first delivery in 1992. These cars are numbered 92011–92241, 93011-93481, 94011-94241, 014352-014643, 14652 and 14663.
The 01A03, 01A04 and the 02A01 train are current rolling stocks used on the Line 1 and Line 2 of Shanghai Metro. They are built by Adtranz, Siemens Mobility and CSR Zhuzhou Locomotive, with modified by Shentong Metro between 2023 and 2024.
The 09A01 train is a current rolling stock used in Shanghai Metro, which originally ordered for Line 1 extension, but is currently assigned to Line 9 service due to the production discontinued of expansion cars. The trains were developed by Bombardier and built by CNR Changchun Railway Vehicles.
The 04A01 train is a current rolling stock used on Line 4 of Shanghai Metro. They are developed by Siemens Mobility and built by CSR Zhuzhou Locomotive. AC05s entered service on 31 December 2005.
The 01A05 train is a current rolling stock used on Line 1 of Shanghai Metro. They are developed by Alstom and built by CSR Nanjing Puzhen. The contract contained 128 cars for the Line 1 extension. It also filled the capacity blank caused by AC04s removed from Line 1 fleet.
The B1 is a class of rolling stock built for Line 3 of Guangzhou Metro. They are built by Siemens Mobility and CSR Zhuzhou Locomotive. B1 is the first mass-produced B-class rolling stock for the Guangzhou Metro. They entered service on 26 December 2005.
