Abdulganiyu Saka Cook Olododo (born 25 December 1960) is a Nigerian politician who serves as a member of the House of Representatives representing Ilorin East/Ilorin South federal constituency under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from 2019 to 2023. [1] [2]

Early life and education

Olododo studied at the Kwara State College of Technology (now Kwara State Polytechnic) in Ilorin, where he obtained a Certificate in Estate Management. He also completed a Diploma in Public Administration at the same institution. In March 2009 he earned a Certificate in Conflict Analysis from the United States Institute of Peace. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the University of Abuja in 2012. [2] [3]

Olododo is an entrepreneur, community leader, and politician. His father, Alhaji Sakariyah Cook, belonged to the prominent Amode family in the Okelele region of Ilorin. [2]

He was elected to the House of Representatives in 2019 and served until 2023. He was a member of the house committee on public petitions. [4]

The university's main campus sits on an expansive area of land, about 15,000 hectares in the ancient city of Ilorin; making it the largest university in Nigeria and one of the largest in Africa by landmass. The university comprises 16 faculties and over 100 academic departments offering 103 programmes. It was established by a decree of the Federal Military Government of Nigeria in August, 1975. The University of Ilorin has the highest enrollment of foreign students in Nigeria. The establishment aimed to implement one of the educational directives of the Third National Development Plan, which was aimed at providing more opportunities for Nigerians aspiring to acquire university education and to generate high-level manpower, which is vital for the rapidly expanding economy. Gbemisola Ruqayyah Saraki is a Nigerian politician who served as the Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development of Nigeria since 6 July 2022 till 29th May 2023. She served earlier as the Minister of State for Transportation from 2019 till she was moved by the President to the Ministry of Mines and Steel Development in 2022.
