Advances in Production Engineering & Management (APEM) is an interdisciplinary refereed journal. It is published quarterly by Production Engineering Institute (PEI), an organisational unit of the Faculty of mechanical engineering at the University of Maribor. The main goal of journal is to present high quality research developments in all areas of production engineering and production management, as well as their applications in industry and services, to a broad audience of academics and practitioners. Like most scientific journals, it can be obtained in print or in electronic form.
Robert James Mair, Baron Mair, is a geotechnical engineer and Emeritus Sir Kirby Laing Professor of Civil Engineering and director of research at the University of Cambridge. He is Head of the Cambridge Centre for Smart Infrastructure and Construction (CSIC). He was Master of Jesus College, Cambridge, from 2001 to 2011 and a fellow of St John's College, Cambridge, from 1998 to 2001. In 2014 he was elected a vice president of the Institution of Civil Engineers and on 1 November 2017 became the Institution's president for 2017–18, its 200th anniversary year. He was appointed an independent crossbencher in the House of Lords in 2015 and is currently a member of its Select Committee on Science and Technology.
Scientia Iranica is a peer-reviewed scientific journal published by Sharif University of Technology. It was established in 1991 and covers theoretical and experimental research in technical sciences and engineering. Starting in 2011, the journal is published open access. Acta Chimica Slovenica is a quarterly scientific journal of chemistry. It comprises two parts: The first part contains peer-reviewed scientific and expert articles from the various fields of chemistry, written in English and accompanied by abstracts in Slovene. The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering is the academic department at Imperial College London dedicated to civil engineering. Kharazmi University is a major public research university in Iran, named after Khwarizmi, Persian mathematician, astronomer and geographer, offering a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in a variety of disciplines. Kharazmi University is considered as the oldest institution of higher education in Iran. It was established in 1919 as the Central Teachers' Institute and gained university status as Tarbiat Moallem University of Tehran in 1974. It changed its name to Kharazmi University on January 31, 2012.
Professor Barry Clarke is a British civil engineer. He specialises in geotechnical engineering and is Associate Director of the Institute of Resilient Infrastructure at Leeds University. Clarke has also worked at Cambridge University and at Newcastle University, where he obtained his first degree. He is a prolific writer with more than a hundred research papers and reports to his name and has written a textbook on pressuremeters in engineering applications. Clarke has sat on many construction industry committees and bodies, particularly those associated with engineering education.
