There are 32 head coaches in the National Football League (NFL) for the 32 respective teams. Twenty of the current head coaches have won at least one Super Bowl as either a head coach, assistant coach, or as a player throughout their career in the NFL, while all but 4 have participated in at least one. Bill Belichick has the most Super Bowl wins throughout his career among active head coaches with 8 (6 as a head coach and 2 as a defensive coordinator), as well as the most losses with 4 (3 as a head coach). Doug Marrone, Matt Rhule, Kevin Stefanski and Matt Nagy are the only coaches who have never won or lost a Super Bowl having never made it to one. Seven of the coaches have won at least one Super Bowl as a head coach with their current teams, Andy Reid, John Harbaugh, Bill Belichick, Sean Payton, Pete Carroll, Doug Pederson and Mike Tomlin. Additionally, Jon Gruden won Super Bowl XXXVII while the head coach for the 2002 Tampa Bay Buccaneers while Mike McCarthy won Super Bowl XLV while coach of the 2010 Green Bay Packers.

Bill Belichick American football coach

Michael Edward Shanahan is a former American football coach, best known as the head coach of the Denver Broncos of the National Football League (NFL) from 1995 to 2008. During his 14 seasons with the Broncos, he led the team to consecutive Super Bowl victories in XXXII and XXXIII, including the franchise's first NFL title in the former. His head coaching career spanned a total of 20 seasons and also included stints with the Los Angeles Raiders and Washington Redskins. He is the father of San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan.

Andy Reid American football coach

Andrew Walter Reid is an American football coach who is the head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League (NFL). Reid was previously the head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles, a position he held from 1999 to 2012. From 2001 to 2012, he was also the Eagles' executive vice president of football operations, effectively making him the team's general manager. He began his professional coaching career as an assistant coach for the Green Bay Packers from 1992 to 1998, with whom he won a Super Bowl title in Super Bowl XXXI.

John Harbaugh American football player and coach

John W. Harbaugh is an American football coach who is the head coach of the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League (NFL). Previously, he coached the defensive backs for the Philadelphia Eagles and served as the Eagles special teams coach for nine years. Harbaugh and his younger brother, former San Francisco 49ers and now University of Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh, are the first pair of brothers in NFL history to serve as head coaches. Jack Harbaugh, Jim and John's father, served 45 years as a college defensive coach, an assistant coach, and a running backs coach. John and the Ravens beat his brother, Jim, and the 49ers at Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans on February 3, 2013 by a score of 34–31.

Mike Tomlin American football coach

Michael Pettaway Tomlin is an American football coach who is the head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers of the National Football League (NFL), having led the team since 2007. Tomlin was the youngest head coach in NFL history to win a Super Bowl, doing so at the age of 36 in Super Bowl XLIII against the Arizona Cardinals.

Jay Gruden American football coach and former player

Jay Michael Gruden is an American football coach and former quarterback who is the offensive coordinator for the Jacksonville Jaguars of the National Football League (NFL). He previously served as the head coach of the Washington Redskins from 2014 to 2019 and offensive coordinator for the Cincinnati Bengals from 2011 to 2013. During his time in the Arena Football League (AFL), he won four ArenaBowls as a player and two more as a head coach. He is the younger brother of Las Vegas Raiders head coach Jon Gruden, and was an assistant coach of the 2002 Tampa Bay Buccaneers team that won Super Bowl XXXVII.
