The State Intelligence Agency, commonly referred to as BIN, is Indonesia's primary intelligence agency. The BIN is also responsible for coordinating intelligence activities among various intelligence agencies, including military intelligence, police intelligence, prosecutors intelligence and other relevant entities.
Law enforcement in Indonesia is mainly performed by the Indonesian National Police (POLRI), together with other law enforcement agencies which are under the president, a certain ministry or State-owned company (BUMN) which perform policing duties for a certain public service, these law enforcement agencies are under supervision and are trained by the Indonesian National Police. The Indonesian National Police is basically the national civilian police force of the country responsible for enforcing law and order of the state.

The Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Indonesia is a non-structural government agency directly under the auspices of the President of Indonesia. The office reports to the President and is headed by a Chief of Staff. Previously, the office was named Unit of Presidential Staff based on the Presidential Decree No.29/ 2014. The current name has been used based on the Presidential Decree No.26/2015 dated 23 February 2015 due to the expansion of the task and function assigned to the office.

Tan Sri Budi Gunawan PSM is an Indonesian high ranking police officer who is the former Chief of the Indonesian State Intelligence Agency (BIN) on 9 September 2016, and is also the General Chairman of the Indonesian E-Sports Executive Board. He previously served as Deputy Chief of Indonesian National Police accompanying National Police Chief Badrodin Haiti and Tito Karnavian. He is the second member of the police after Sutanto to lead the State Intelligence Agency.
The National Research and Innovation Agency is a cabinet-level government agency formed by the Indonesian government in 2019. Originally a new agency attached to the Ministry of Research and Technology, which became the Ministry of Research and Technology/National Research and Innovation Agency, the agency was controversially separated and established as a new non-ministerial government agency directly under the President of Indonesia on 28 April 2021. On 23 August 2021, the agency gained cabinet-level status through enactment of Presidential Decree No. 78/2021. This agency is the result of the fusion between the Indonesian Investment Authority and elements of the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises.
