Uriankhai, Uriankhan or Uriankhat, is a term of address applied by the Mongols to a group of forest peoples of the North, who include the Turkic-speaking Tuvans and Yakuts, while sometimes it is also applied to the Mongolian-speaking Altai Uriankhai. The Uriankhai included the western forest Uriankhai tribe and the transbaikal Uriankhai tribe, with the former recorded in Chinese sources as 兀良哈.

Xestia lorezi is a moth of the family Noctuidae. It is found in northern Europe and the Alps. Subspecies lorezi is found in the Alps on altitudes between 1,700 and 2,500 meters. Subspecies kongsvoldensis is found in Fennoscandia and northern Russia. Outside of Europe, there are four more subspecies, ssp. sajana in the Sayan Mountains, ssp. katuna in the Altai mountains, ssp. monotona in Yakutia and ssp. ogilviana in Yukon and Alaska.
Euxoa eruta is a moth of the family Noctuidae. It is found in Italy, Spain, France, Germany, Denmark, Fennoscandia, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Greece, Turkey, Belarus, the Baltic region, Siberia and from central Asia up to the Altai Mountains. Note that E. eruta may not be a good species. The Euxoa tritici complex consists of five sibling species in Europe: Euxoa tritici, Euxoa nigrofusca, Euxoa eruta, Euxoa diaphora Boursin, 1928 and Euxoa segnilis. Furthermore, although Fibiger (1997) treated Euxoa montivaga differently it belongs to the E. tritici complex. Differences among the species are subtle, the most important diagnostic characteristics being genitalic. In studies of three of these species, E. tritici, E. nigrofusca and E. eruta, no support was found for the presence of several morphologically distinguishable species with quantitative morphometric analyses.

Oeneis magna is a butterfly of the family Nymphalidae. It was described by Ludwig Carl Friedrich Graeser in 1888. It is found from the Altai Mountains to southern Siberia and the Russian Far East, Mongolia, northern China and Korea. The habitat consists of sparse woodlands and mountain tundras.
Euchalcia siderifera is a moth of the family Noctuidae. It is found in Italy, Greece and from Asia Minor through Russia up to the Ural Mountains and Altai Mountains.
