The Altaville Grammar School in Altaville, California is one of the oldest grammar schools in California. It was built in 1858 of brick in the Greek Revival style and remained in use until 1950, when it was replaced by the Mark Twain Elementary School in Altaville. After its abandonment, it fell into disrepair, but was restored in 1989 by the Calaveras County Historical Society. The building serves now as an example of a typical schoolroom of the 19th century.
The schoolhouse is registered as California Historical Landmark #499 [1] and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NPS-1979000471).
Calaveras County, officially the County of Calaveras, is a county in both the Gold Country and High Sierra regions of the U.S. state of California. As of the 2020 census, the population was 45,292. The county seat is San Andreas. Angels Camp is the county's only incorporated city. Calaveras is Spanish for "skulls"; the county was reportedly named for the remains of Native Americans discovered by the Spanish explorer Captain Gabriel Moraga.

The Old Lake County Courthouse, also known as Lake County Courthouse, in Lakeport, California is a building built in 1870. It served Lake County as a seat of government from 1871 until 1968. Precedent-setting trials on water rights were held here, along with the "White Cap" murder trial, a notorious episode in vigilantism held here in 1890. The brick courthouse, constructed by A.P. Pettit in 1870–1871, was one of the few buildings in the vicinity to survive the 1906 San Francisco earthquake with only minor damage. It is now California Historical Landmark #897 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NPS-70000134). The county schools library was located in the basement until at least 1968. It is surrounded by a Lakeport City Park.

The Saracen's Head is the name formerly given to a group of late medieval buildings in Kings Norton, Birmingham. The buildings, together with the nearby Old Grammar School, won the BBC Restoration series in 2004. Following the restoration project, the Old Grammar School, Saint Nicolas Church and the Tudor Merchant's House were given the collective name of Saint Nicolas Place.
The Pascoag Grammar School, also previously the Burrillville High School, is a historic school building at 265 Sayles Avenue in the Pascoag village of Burrillville, Rhode Island. The Colonial Revival school was built in 1917 by Thomas McLaughlin and Mahoney & Coffey to replace a previous school that had burned. There had been a school on the site since at least the mid-19th century. The school is a T-shaped brick structure 2+1⁄2 stories high. It has fifteen bays across its main facade, with a raised center entrance. When built it first served as the town's high school. In 1936 a new high school building was built, and this one the served strictly as an elementary school until it was closed in 1995. It sat vacant until 2005, when it was acquired by a developer and rehabilitated.

Howard Park P.S. 218, also known as School 7, is a historic elementary school located at Baltimore, Maryland, United States. It is an early 20th-century brick school building located in the intact historic west Baltimore neighborhood of Howard Park. The earliest school building was constructed in 1908 and enlarged in 1913, 1936, and in 1957. The older sections are built of brick and accented with limestone details. It continued to function as a school until 1980.
Public School No. 111, also known as Francis Ellen Harper School, is a historic elementary school located at Baltimore, Maryland, United States. It is a Romanesque brick structure that features an ornately detailed brick front façade. It was built in 1889 as Colored School #9 and is one of the few surviving schools built for black children and staffed by black teachers. The school is named after Francis Ellen Harper (1825-1911), a Baltimore-born African American poet.

Built in 1782, it is one of the oldest surviving brick school buildings in the state. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on December 29, 1970. It now serves as a visitors center for the local historical society.
The Church Hill Grammar School, now the Edward J. Creamer Pawtucket School Administration Building, is a historic school building at 81 Park Place in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. It is a 2+1⁄2-story structure, finished in brick trimmed with granite. It is an elegant example of Queen Anne styling, designed by the Providence firm of William R. Walker & Son and built in 1889–90. It has a cross-gabled slate roof, a prominent bell tower with pyramidal roof, and entrances recessed under shed-roof porches. The building served as a school until 1946, and then as an administration building until 2006.

The high school was built in 1910, and is a two-story brick building connected to the grammar school. The school was abandoned in 1970.
Main Street Grammar School, also known as Union High School, is a historic school building located at Union, Union County, South Carolina. It was built in 1909 and is a two-story, brick Neo-Classical building. It features a brick parapet, central projecting bay and large pedimented portico. In 1965, the Union Campus of the University of South Carolina acquired the building and rehabilitated it to serve as its main campus building.
The Quincy Grammar School is a historic former school building at 88-90 Tyler Street in the Chinatown neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. It is a three-story red brick building, designed by Gridley James Fox Bryant. It was built in 1859, a reconstruction to original plans after fire leveled the first structure, built in 1848. Originally four stories in height, the top floor collapsed during the Great New England Hurricane of 1938. The building is historically significant as a major element in the education of Boston's immigrant Chinese community during the early 20th century. It is now owned by the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association of Boston, which operates it as a community center.
