Alvandi (Persian : الوندي‎, also Romanized as Alvandī)^[1] is a village in Mehranrud-e Markazi Rural District, in the Central District of Bostanabad County, East Azerbaijan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 72, in 12 families, making it one of the smallest villages in Azerbaijan.^[2]

Persian, also known by its endonym Farsi, is one of the Western Iranian languages within the Indo-Iranian branch of the Indo-European language family. It is primarily spoken in Iran, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and some other regions which historically were Persianate societies and considered part of Greater Iran. It is written right to left in the Persian alphabet, a modified variant of the Arabic script.

Mehranrud-e Markazi Rural District is a rural district (dehestan) in the Central District of Bostanabad County, East Azerbaijan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 19,216, in 3,856 families. The rural district has 20 villages.

The District has one city: Bostanabad.
