Amardeep Singh Gill (born 8 October 1968) [1] is an Indian director, screenwriter, producer and lyricist associated with Punjabi cinema and Punjabi music. [2] [3]

Early life

Gill was born on 8 October 1968, to a Jatt-Sikh family in Bathinda, Punjab, but his native village is Gholia Kalan in the Moga district. He has a master's degree in Punjabi from Punjabi University. [4]

Career

Gill started his career as a lyricist with hit songs such as Sili Sili Hawa, Je Mille Oh Kudi, Hanju, Socha Vich Tu, Ki Beeti Sade Nal, and Pyar Kar Ke.

In 2014, he directed his first short film, Sutta Naag. Afterwards, he worked as a screenwriter and lyricist in the movie Yoddha: The Warrior.

In 2017, he directed his first film Jora 10 Numbaria which starred Deep Sidhu, Dharmendra, Mukul Dev, Sardar Sohi and Mukesh Tiwari. [5]

Jora 10 Numbaria is a 2017 Indian Punjabi-language film written and directed by Amardeep Singh Gill, starring Deep Sidhu in the title role of the gangster Jora. It was followed by Gill's Jora: The Second Chapter in 2020 with Sidhu reprising his role, focusing on Jora's rise to political power after becoming a gangster.

Kamaldeep Singh Dhaliwal, commonly known as Hobby Dhaliwal is an Indian film actor, singer, and politician. He is known for his works in Punjabi and Hindi films. Dhaliwal began his career by debut movie Burrraahh in 2012. The films Angrej (2015), Lahoriye (2017), Jora 10 Numbaria (2017), and Ardaas Karaan (2019) are among his best known works.

Jora: The Second Chapter is a Punjabi film directed by Ambeedeep Singh Gill. The film stars Deep Sidhu, Singga, Japji Khaira, Mahie Gill, Dharmendra, Gugu Gill and Hobby Dhaliwal. It was released on 6 March 2020.
