Amphidium is a genus of mosses belonging to the monotypic family Amphidiaceae. [1] It has previously been placed in families Orthotrichaceae [2] and Rhabdoweisiaceae. [3] [4]

The genus has cosmopolitan distribution.[ citation needed ]
