Anak Ko (meaning "My Child" in the Tagalog language) is the third studio album by American indie musician Jay Som, released on August 23, 2019 by Polyvinyl. [1]

Background

"Superbike" was released as the album's first single on June 4, 2019. The album was announced on the same day and a pre-order for the album was also made available. [2] Tour dates were also revealed on the same day. [3]

"Tenderness" was released as the album's second single on July 11, 2019, alongside a music video directed by Weird Life. [4]

"Nighttime Drive" was released as the album's third single on August 8, 2019, alongside a music video directed by Han Hale in which Duterte and her band are investigating alien life forms. [5]

Celebration Rock is the second studio album by Canadian rock duo Japandroids, released on June 5, 2012, by Polyvinyl. Recorded in Vancouver with Post-Nothing engineer Jesse Gander, the band aspired to capture the spirit and energy of their live shows, thus forgoing standard studio techniques such as double tracking and overdubbing, while consciously taking into account the perceived reaction of their audience to hearing the songs live in concert.

"Blood on the Leaves" is a song by American hip hop recording artist Kanye West from his sixth studio album Yeezus (2013). In the song, West presents his thoughts on how fame can cause the destruction of relationships, while making comparisons of contemporary times to the lynching of African Americans in the United States during the pre-civil rights era. West delivers his vocals through an Auto-Tune processor, like on his 2008 album 808s & Heartbreak. It contains samples of both singer Nina Simone's 1965 rendition of Billie Holiday's song "Strange Fruit", and "R U Ready" by the duo TNGHT, who co-produced the track.

The follow-up to Everybody Works and Jay Som's second home studio album, Anak Ko, was released on August 23, 2019 via Polyvinyl, Lucky Number, and Inertia.
