Appolonius is a genus of seed bugs in the tribe Drymini of the family Rhyparochromidae. There are about 12 described species in Appolonius, found in Indomalaya and Oceania. [1] [2]
These 12 species belong to the genus Appolonius:
Bandwings, or band-winged grasshoppers, are the subfamily Oedipodinae of grasshoppers classified under the family Acrididae. They have a worldwide distribution and were originally elevated to full family status as the Oedipodidae. Many species primarily inhabit xeric weedy fields, and some are considered to be important locusts:
Cercopidae are the largest family of Cercopoidea, a xylem-feeding insect group, commonly called froghoppers. They belong to the hemipteran suborder Auchenorrhyncha. A 2023 phylogenetic study of the family suggested the elevation of subfamily Ischnorhininae to full family status as Ischnorhinidae, leaving a monophyletic Cercopinae.
Heterogastridae is a family of lygaeoid bugs consisting of about 20 genera and more than 100 species.
Spilostethus is a genus of bugs in the family Lygaeidae. Most species in this genus are from the Palearctic and Oriental regions.
Dysdercus is a widespread genus of true bugs in the family Pyrrhocoridae; a number of species attacking cotton bolls may be called "cotton stainers".
Lygaeinae is a subfamily of ground bugs in the insect family Lygaeidae.
Lygaeus is a genus of seed bugs in the family Lygaeidae. There are more than 60 described species in Lygaeus.
Neacoryphus is a genus of seed bugs in the family Lygaeidae. There are about five described species in Neacoryphus.
Drymini is a tribe of dirt-colored seed bugs in the family Rhyparochromidae. There are more than 300 described species in Drymini.
Ochrimnus is a genus of seed bugs in the family Lygaeidae. There are more than 40 described species in Ochrimnus.
Myodochini is a tribe of dirt-colored seed bugs in the family Rhyparochromidae. There are more than 80 genera and 370 described species in Myodochini.
Ozophorini is a tribe of dirt-colored seed bugs in the family Rhyparochromidae. There are more than 30 genera and 220 described species in Ozophorini.
Lethaeini is a tribe of dirt-colored seed bugs in the family Rhyparochromidae. There are more than 40 genera and 180 described species in Lethaeini.
Scolopostethus is a genus of dirt-colored seed bugs in the family Rhyparochromidae. There are more than 30 described species in Scolopostethus.
Neolethaeus is a genus of dirt-colored seed bugs in the family Rhyparochromidae. There are more than 20 described species in Neolethaeus, found mainly in Asia, Australia, and Africa.
Brentiscerus is a genus of dirt-colored seed bugs in the family Rhyparochromidae. There are at least two described species in Brentiscerus, found in Australia and New Zealand.
