Areneidae is a family of sea snails, marine gastropod mollusks in the clade Vetigastropoda. [1]
Areneidae was previously not officially described as a taxon name. [2] Areneidae is provisionally placed within the superfamily Angarioidea according to Williams et al. (2008). [3] In 2012 it was moved to the superfamily Trochoidea
There are two genera within the family Areneidae: [1]
Neomphalidae is a family of sea snails or limpets, specifically deep sea hydrothermal vent limpets. This family was included in the Vetigastropoda, which is a clade according to the Bouchet & Rocroi, 2005. It is now included in the clade Neomphalina.
Tegula is a genus of small to medium-sized sea snails, marine gastropod molluscs in the family Tegulidae.
Neomphaloidea is a superfamily of deep-sea snails or limpets, marine gastropod mollusks. Neomphaloidea is the only superfamily in the order Neomphalida.
Turbinidae, the turban snails, are a family of small to large marine gastropod molluscs in the superfamily Trochoidea.
Calliostomatidae is a family of sea snails within the superfamily Trochoidea and the clade Vetigastropoda.
Stomatellinae is a subfamily of small sea snails with a brilliantly nacreous interior of the shell, marine gastropod mollusks in the family Trochidae, the top snails.
Trochoidea is a superfamily of small to very large vetigastropod sea snails with gills and an operculum. Species within this superfamily have nacre as the inner shell layer. The families within this superfamily include the Trochidae, the top snails. This superfamily is the largest vetigastropodan superfamily, containing more than 2,000 species.
Spectamen is a genus of small sea snails, marine gastropod molluscs in the family Solariellidae within the superfamily Trochoidea.
Pendromidae is a family of gastropods in the clade Vetigastropoda.
Solariellidae is a family of small sea snails, marine gastropod mollusks in the superfamily Trochoidea.
Liotiidae is a family of small sea snails, marine gastropod mollusks in the clade Vetigastropoda.
Strictispiridae is a taxonomic family of small predatory sea snails, marine gastropod mollusks in the superfamily Conoidea, the cone snails and their allies.
Colloniidae is a family of small sea snails with calcareous opercula, marine gastropod mollusks in the clade Vetigastropoda.
Arene is a genus of small sea snails that have a calcareous operculum, marine gastropod molluscs in the family Areneidae.
Angarioidea is a superfamily of small to medium sized sea snails, marine gastropod mollusks in the clade Vetigastropoda.
The Skeneidae are a speciose family of minute to small marine gastropod molluscs in the superfamily Trochoidea.
Margaritidae is a family of small sea snails, marine gastropod mollusks in the superfamily Trochoidea.
Photinastoma is a genus of sea snails, marine gastropod mollusks in the family Calliostomatidae within the superfamily Trochoidea, the top snails, turban snails and their allies.
Xeniostoma is a genus of sea snails, marine gastropod mollusks in the family Calliostomatidae within the superfamily Trochoidea, the top snails, turban snails and their allies.
Trochida is an order of small to very large vetigastropod, Recent and extinct sea snails with gills and an operculum.
