Arti Cameron (born December 14, 1988) is a Afro-Guyanese model and beauty pageant titleholder. [1] She graduated from LaGuardia Community College in 2008. [2] She was named Miss Guyana in 2011, but she was unable to obtain a visa in time to participate in the Miss World 2011 pageant, so her entry was deferred to the following year's international competition. [3] She met with Bharrat Jagdeo, President of Guyana, after having won the national competition. [4] At the Miss World 2012 pageant, Cameron won the People's Choice Award. [5] It is traditional for beauty queens to be tall in order to better showcase their legs, but Cameron was one of several contestants at Miss World 2012 who were petite. [6] The pageant was held in China and Cameron praised Chinese architecture while she was there. [7] The Guyana Tri-State Alliance provided Cameron with three cocktail dresses for the competition. [8] That July, Cameron appeared at the JRG Bikini Under the Bridge Fashion Show in New York City, New York, United States. [9] Her reign as Miss Guyana lasted until 2013. [10]

Miss World 2013, the 63rd edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 28 September 2013 at Bali International Convention Center, South Kuta, Bali, Indonesia. It was the first time in Southeast Asia and it also was the first time in the pageant's history that the event was held in a Muslim majority country. Contestants from 127 countries and territories competed in this year's Miss World pageant, marking the biggest turnout for any beauty pageant globally as of 2023. Yu Wenxia of China crowned her successor Megan Young of the Philippines at the end of the event, marking the only time to date that the Philippines has won the Miss World title. This victory also made the Philippines the third country to win all of the Big Four international beauty pageants.

Courage Productions runs the Miss BC pageant, including the Mrs. BC, Miss Teen BC, and Miss Charity BC titles. It was founded in Langley in 2002 by Darren Storsley. The final pageant night is televised by Shaw TV. The pageant has not been held since 2019 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
