Asphalt: Urban GT 2 is a racing video game developed and published by Gameloft for the Nintendo DS, N-Gage and PlayStation Portable. A 2.5D Java Platform 2 ME version for mobile phones was also released on November 30, 2005. [3] [4] It is a sequel of Asphalt: Urban GT (2004) and the second major game of the Asphalt series.
The game features a special appearance from The Pussycat Dolls, and a sample of Moby's single "Lift Me Up". [5] The Nintendo DS version was released a year after the N-Gage version, with improved graphics, sound, and dual screen compatibility. A version for the PSP was also released in March 2007 which features the track "Apply Some Pressure" by Maxïmo Park and adds an exclusive "Time Ride" Mode for the Arcade mode. [6] [7] The next title in the series was Asphalt 3: Street Rules which would only be released for mobile phones; the next console release would be the Nintendo DSi version of Asphalt 4: Elite Racing in 2009.
The gameplay of Urban GT 2 is often compared to Burnout , Need for Speed and other titles as players can eliminate other opponents or police cars [8] by performing takedowns. This is done by either forcing them into the wall or ramming them while using a nitrous oxide boost which temporarily increases the vehicle's acceleration and top speed for a short duration.
The game uses a "wanted" meter governing law enforcement response to players while street racing, especially if nitrous is used, if the player commits property destruction [b] or disables other competitors and law enforcement vehicles by ramming them off the road. [7] [4]
As with the previous entry in the series, Urban GT 2 takes place in tracks modelled after real-world locations; many of the tracks from the previous game return such as Paris, New York City, Miami, Las Vegas, Cuba, the Chernobyl exclusion zone and Hong Kong, though new tracks such as San Francisco, Rio de Janeiro and Dubai have also been added.
The game features 57 vehicles, 45 of which are licensed from 23 real-world manufacturers such as Aston Martin, Lamborghini, Hummer, Volkswagen, Nissan, and several others. Unlike the previous game whose sole motorcycle is the fictional "Gamelati 1000 SS", Urban GT 2 adds several new licensed motorcycle models in its roster, notably those from Confederate Motors, Ducati and Triumph.

Urban GT 2 was met with mixed reception. GameRankings and Metacritic gave it a score of 65% for the DS version; [9] 62% for the Mobile version; [10] and 30% and 42 out of 100 for the PSP version. [11] [12]
Frank Provo of GameSpot praised the game's improvements over the original and its selection of licensed vehicles and respective upgrades, [8] but noted the game's poor AI. Andrew Hayward of Worthplaying however, was more critical of the game, calling it a "mundane exercise in repetition". Besides citing easy difficulty and AI problems, the use of the Pussycat Dolls was also criticised as being a "marketing gimmick". [14]
In a more positive review, Levi Buchanan of IGN praised the mobile version's selection of vehicles and graphics, though Buchanan attributed most of the game's criticism to mobile device limitations. [4]
Need for Speed: Underground 2 is a 2004 racing video game developed by EA Black Box and published by Electronic Arts. It is the eighth installment in the Need for Speed series and the direct sequel to Need for Speed: Underground. It was developed for Windows, GameCube, PlayStation 2, and Xbox. Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS versions were developed by Pocketeers, and a PlayStation Portable version, titled Need for Speed: Underground Rivals, was developed by Team Fusion. Another version for mobile phones was also developed by Ideaworks Game Studio. Like its predecessor, it was also commercially successful, selling around 11 million copies worldwide and breaking sales records in the United Kingdom.
Asphalt: Urban GT is a 2004 arcade-style racing video game developed and published by Gameloft, known as the first title of the Asphalt series. An N-Gage version was planned but never released.
Burnout Legends is a racing video game developed by Criterion Games and published by Electronic Arts for PlayStation Portable. The game features many of the tracks and gameplay modes from the first three Burnout titles but repackaged for the handheld format. Many of the gameplay modes are similar to Burnout 3: Takedown using a mixture of old and new tracks. The Nintendo DS port was developed by Visual Impact.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest is a 2006 action-adventure game based on the film of the same name developed by Griptonite Games and Amaze Entertainment for the Game Boy Advance, Nintendo DS, PlayStation Portable, and mobile phones.
Star Wars: Lethal Alliance is an action adventure video game based on the Star Wars franchise. It takes place between the events of Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. It was developed by Ubisoft Montreal and released by Ubisoft in December 2006 for the PlayStation Portable and Nintendo DS. Lethal Alliance received a mixed reception.

Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli is a racing game developed by Eutechnyx and published by System 3, based on the Ferrari Challenge, a single-marque motorsport championship. The game features 14 playable tracks and Ferrari's own Fiorano test track, a vinyl editor and online play for all versions except the PS2. It is part of the Brothers in Arms series established by Gearbox's Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30. In 2008, it was ported to the iOS as Brothers in Arms: Hour of Heroes by Gameloft and to the N-Gage QD as Brothers in Arms.
Warhammer 40,000: Squad Command is a turn-based tactics game set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, released in 2007 for the PlayStation Portable and Nintendo DS. It was developed by Ubisoft RedLynx. The game features three Space Marine Chapters pitted against three Legions of Chaos battling it out on the planet of Ruhr III. The game features units from the tabletop wargame.
The Sims 2: Castaway is the third console spin-off of the life simulation video game The Sims 2 for the Wii, Nintendo DS (NDS), PlayStation 2 (PS2) and PlayStation Portable (PSP). It is also available on mobile phones; Nokia offered Castaway on the Ovi Store. A roughly similar game, The Sims Castaway Stories, is available for personal computers, but is not a direct port of Castaway.
Brain Challenge is a mental exercise video game, featuring "brain exercise puzzles". The game was developed by Gameloft Beijing for mobile phone and iPod and released on September 5, 2007. In 2008 was followed by a Nintendo DS version on January 8, an Xbox Live Arcade release on March 12, and a PlayStation 3 launch on November 27. The N-Gage 2.0 version was released on the day of the service's launch, April 3, 2008. A version for WiiWare was released in autumn 2008 on all three regions. The Wii version also uses Miis for the players profile. OnLive also had launched their new streaming game platform with Brain Challenge on July 27, 2010. The game was released for Mac OS X in January 2011.
Speed Racer: The Videogame is a racing video game developed by Sidhe Interactive for the PlayStation 2 and Wii consoles, by Virtuos for the Nintendo DS and by Glu Mobile for mobile phones; and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Glu Mobile. It is a tie-in to the 2008 film Speed Racer, set one year after its events. The actors from the movie reprise their role in the video game counterpart. The mobile version was released in April 2008, and the Nintendo versions were released on May 6, 2008, with the PlayStation 2 version being released on September 16, 2008, alongside the DVD and Blu-ray release. Due to the short development time allotted, Warner Bros. chose not to release the game on other contemporary non-Nintendo platforms.

Astro Boy: The Video Game is an action platform video game based on the 2009 animated film Astro Boy. The game was released in Japan on October 8, 2009 for the PlayStation Portable under the name Atom to coincide with the Japanese theatrical release on October 10, 2009. It was later released on the same system as a downloadable game in North America on October 14, 2009. It received a retail version of it and a port to the PlayStation 2, Wii and Nintendo DS which were released on October 20, 2009 to coincide with the North American theatrical release of the film on October 23, 2009. It features the voices of Freddie Highmore and Kristen Bell, reprising their film roles.
