The 2010 Asian Para Games, also known as the First Asian Para Games, was a parallel sport event for Asian athletes with a disability held in Guangzhou, China. Two weeks after the conclusion of the 16th Asian Games, It opened on December 12 and closed on December 19, 2010.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Asian Para Games</span> Multi-sport event

The Asian Para Games, also known as Para Asiad, is a multi-sport event regulated by the Asian Paralympic Committee that's held every four years after every Asian Games for athletes with physical disabilities. Both events had adopted the strategy used by the Olympic and Paralympic Games of having both games in the same city. However, the exclusion of Asian Para Games from Asian Games host city contract meant that both events ran independently of each other. The Games are recognized by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) and are described as the second largest multi-sport event after the Paralympic Games.

World ParaVolley, formerly the World Organization Volleyball for Disabled (WOVD), is an international organization that is for people with physical disabilities. It is affiliated with the International Paralympic Committee(IPC). The World Organization Volleyball for Disabled was established in 1981 and was part of the International Sports Organization for Disabled (ISOD). In 1992 the WOVD became its own separate Organization in Barcelona, Spain. The WOVD Headquarters were also established in the Netherlands. The WOVD is responsible for managing and controlling the conduct of international volleyball competitions for men, women and youth. The WOVD also liaises with IPC (as an independent organisation) and with other organizations for people with or without disabilities. The organization adopted its present name World ParaVolley at its 2014 general assembly.

The World Para Athletics European Championships, known prior to 2018 as the IPC Athletics European Championships is an event organized by World Para Athletics, the international athletics federation established under the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) in 2016. Athletes with a physical disability compete, and there is also a specific category for athletes with an intellectual disability. Organised biennially, the original Games ran from 2003 to 2005 as an Open Championship but the event was frozen in 2005, but returned in 2012 in Stadskanaal, Netherlands.

Deepa Malik is an Indian athlete. She started her career at the age of 30. She is the first Indian woman to win a medal in Paralympic Games and won a silver medal at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in shot put. She also won gold in the F-53/54 Javelin event at the para athletic Grand Prix held in Dubai in 2018. She is currently the world number one in the F-53 category. She has won accolades for her participation in various adventure sports. She is associated with Himalayan Motorsports Association (H.M.A.) and Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (F.M.S.C.I.). She has undertaken an 8-day, 1,700-km drive in sub-zero temperatures which included a climb to 18,000 feet (5,500 m). It was – Raid De Himalaya. This journey covers many difficult paths including remote Himalayas, Leh, Shimla and Jammu.

Athiwat Paeng-nuea is a Paralympic athlete from Thailand who competes in category T54 sprint events. He represented Thailand at the 2020 Summer Paralympics and won a gold medal in the 100 metres T54 event and a silver medal in the 400 metres event.

Nishad Kumar is an Indian paralympian and high jumper. He made his maiden Paralympic Games appearance in 2020 Tokyo representing India and went onto claim silver medal in the men's high jump T47 category with a new Asian record of 2.06m. In the 2022 Asian Para Games, he won a gold medal in the men's high jump T47 at Hangzhou, China.

Bobirjon Omonov is an Uzbekistani Paralympic athlete specializing in shot put in the F41 category. He is a gold medalist at the Asian Para Games, World Para Athletics Championships, and the Paralympic Games.

Palesha Goverdhan is a Nepalese parataekwondo practitioner. She competed at the 2020 Summer Paralympics in the 58 kg category.

Neeraj Yadav is an Indian Paralympian and javelin thrower. He won Gold at the 2018 Asian Para Games in Indonesia. He was Diagnosed with Neuro damage when he was just 7yrs Old. He Primarily competes in two Paralympics Events discus,Shotput and Javelin for Asian Para Games in the F55 Category

Nimisha Suresh Chakkungalparambil is an Indian para-athlete from Kerala. She competes in the women's T47 long jump event. and women's T47 long jump events. She was selected for the Indian team that took part in the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Para Games. She won the T47 long jump gold medal on 25 October 2023.
