Atopobacter is a Gram-positive, rod-shaped and facultatively anaerobic genus of bacteria from the family of Carnobacteriaceae with one known species ( A. phocae ).^[1]^[2]^[3]^[4]Atopobacter phocae has been isolated from common seals.^[4]
